Arrow I Have Gas

My stove is gas powered. I think that they're better than electric stoves.

I'm a big fan of the electric stoves that are the flat stoves. (the flat cook-top...usually made out of porcelain!)

I'm not used to cooking on gas, but one of my friends has it and we tend to cook a lot at his house. It makes it hard sometimes, but it's fun!

Gas heats more evenly. I've done A LOT of cooking on many forms of electric, but I always return to gas.

The house I grew up in had a gas stove. I miss it. Our choices here are (a) electric, or (b) have propane delivered.

With electric, you have to plan ahead. Say your recipe says "bring to a boil, then lower the heat and simmer" - you have to plan ahead and have one burner set to high (for bringing to the boil) and another set to low (for simmering). With gas, you just turn a knob. Also, if you have electric and you lose power, you're SOL.

I have one of the flat-top electric stoves that jharb describes. On the plus side, cleaning is a snap...

I grew up with electric and had never used a gas stove in my life, so I was a little uncomfortable when Mr. SSS and I bought a house that has a gas stove. But now I love it, and I hate having to cook on electric when I go home to visit my parents!

I'm used to the flat-top electric stoves.
Only use a gas of some kind while camping.

I just wanted to mention that gas stoves are more expensive than electric. Hmmm...wonder why?

Because they're more expensive to manufacture.

The house I bought had a gas hookup and I had to have the electric hookup put in and buy an electric stove. My mom is on oxygen and used to baby sit sometimes and should wouldn't be able to use the gas stove or she would've gone poof.
