Dell Axiom X30 and LG VX6000 Cell Phone
DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW I CAN GET THE STUPID PDA TO CONNECT TO THE WEB THROUGH THE CELL PHONE???
I have a Gomadic cable and tried the Verizon, Dell and Gomdic webite instructions but they didn't work.
(thanks)

How do you like that PDA and cell phone? I'm getting my first PDA this week, and a new Cell Phone since my other one is soooo old. Any suggestions?

You should get the Motorola v600 if you're looking to buy a cheaper phone from amazon.com or the v710 if you want a cooler one. They both have bluetooth which would make it easier to connect to other pdas, computers, microphones, etc.

Don't buy anything without bluetooth.
Other than that, evaluate what's out there and make a good decision. Motorola seems to have really geared itself towards professionals though.

I like my phone; I like my PDA. I don't like that I can't get the internet to connect and I have been trying for 30 minutes to chat with India!!!!
If I can't get it to work within the week or so, the Axim X30 will be returned to Dell.

Well..there is STILL no connection.
Dell and Verizon both promised to get back to me in 8 hours with a response and that was 3 days ago.
Verizon just called and wanted me to complete a customer satisfaction survey. The highest number I gave them was a 4/10.
When she asked if someone could call me, I said I'll wait to see if Gomadic can help me. They responded twice to emails within 18 hours. Calliing them tomorrow...unfortunately that means I have to leave my cell phone home so hubby can call.

Well, last month I get a reply email from Verizon saying that I need to pay extra $$ for national access. I decided not to at that time.
Tonight, I changed my mind and called Verizon....2 twerps say that Verizon doesn't support my being able to use my Dell phone with Verizon!!
At least I finally figured out how to bookmark the Ga traffic site on my cell phone. Wish I had that this morning!

Motorola recalled the v600 because of problems with the bluetooth technology. The v710 looks stellar and I want to get it but I think I'll wait a month or so as to make sure there are no problems with it.

What? When? Where?
If so I'll be happy that I can get another free phone.
There aren't too many computers that can take advantage of bluetooth. I can use my v600 to link up to the internet with my powerbook. What I can't do for some reason is transfer files between the two. I can also use the v600 with a wireless headset without any issues.
Show me something about the recall though. I wonder if they'll give me some dope ass phone now.
Edited to Add: I looked it up and there was a small issue with an RF problem in Cingular's network only so cingular replaced some of the phones. It doesn't look like it was bluetooth and I have no idea what an RF problem is or what exactly cingular subscribers have to deal with. I figure if you can get this phone or the 710 for 50 bucks, that is more than worth it.

Ah, my bad buddy, I"m a Cingular user so that's probably why I thought they recalled the phone across the board. I think I'd rather get teh 710 anyway....
