Just letting everyone know that tonight at 5:00 begins round one of recruitment here at the Beta Mu chapter. Our VP membership has done an AMAZING job this year and the house looks fantastic. Ill keep you all posted!

Tomorrow is our Pref and Bid Day at Akron. DG is doing a BEAUTIFUL job with recruitment! Quota is 11 so we're hoping to come home with 11 wonderful new women!!! Check out "ADPiAkron and Hannahgirl's recruitment thread" in the recruitment stories forum for more details!!!!

Update-

First round went great! We had so much energy and had a great time! Later that night we found out that we had a 95% return rate with the girls that we invited back! That is unheard of!!!
Needless to say we couldn't wait to get to know these girls better.
Second rounds went just as amazing, we were so impressed with a lot of the girls and had about 50 girls on our 100% list.
AND.....I found my rush crush who i HAVE to have as a little!!!

Next Saturday is pref parties and I know that a lot of our girls say that, that is when they knew they had to go DG becuase ours is sooo special. I went through open and didnt get to experience it so i am really looking forward to it. Then Sunday is bid day and I know for sure my eyes will be on my rush crush when she unzips her hoodie!! ill keep you all posted, but we are so excited to get our new babies!!!

I give you guys the update on Eta Kappa's recruitment. I'm an alumn, so all I can do during the parties is hang in the kitchen and make drinks and stuff...but I'm still there so I hear a lot, etc.

We are doing fantastic! After round 1, we had an 82% return rate (there are 6 sororities on campus and they can only visit 4 for round 2). Then after round 2 - out of the 239 girls still going through recruitment 144!!!! put us as their first choice (this was confirmed with the Panhellenic advisor - who was drop-jawed about how well the "young" chapter was doing!) to return to for round 3!

Tonight was round 3 (skit night!). The skit was amazing! The girls looked great! The skit was awesome! We did the DG's and the City skit (with modifications) for the second year. The PNM's smiled, giggled, and laughed the entire time! Most of the other chapters on campus do only "song & dance" for their skits...so actually having a plot and dialogue must have been refreshing. We served shirley temples (with cherries), pink lemonade (with lemonslices), and water (with limes) in glass gobblets with the rim dipped in pink water and then white sugar (to give a soft pink frosted look!) They looked adorable!

I can't wait to find out how the numbers look after tonight. NCSU has a weird schedule though and pref night (round 4) isn't until Thursday! You better believe I'll be there though to help serve again! I'm so excited! The girls are all floored with the qualities of the PNS's!

hoodie?? They have greek life hoodies and unzip them with their choice? Is that what happens? I'm confused. :-P

yes, well kinda, the pnms find out about 20 minutes before...then put on the bid day shirt of their new chapter. they then put on a zip up sweatshirt that hides all of the shirt and they all stand on stage and unzip their sweatshirts, and then we rush them!! its craaazy fun!

It's cool to hear how other schools do it. We come to the horseshoe wearing our rush shirts, and our rho chi hands us our shirt of our sorority, and we just run to our sorority.

Beta Mu chapter took 18 girls for quota +2!
They are amazing girls and we are looking forward to COB as well!

On another thread, it said that the Ole Miss DG chapter didn't take quota. Isn't that really unusual? Or is that just because they're so selective? If anyone knows, feel free to PM... I'm a little confused by this news.

With the inception of those new release rules, some of the strongest sororities in the country aren't making quota because they aren't magic and don't know, when they're releasing most of the PNMs, who may release them. It's nothing to be ashamed of! When I heard that the Mississippi State chapter of Chi O--the strongest chapter I've ever worked with--had not made quota, I knew it had nothing to do with their strength and everything to do with release figures.

I'm sure that DG was able to pledge as many as they wanted right after bids were issued to fill their new member class!
