Red face Baby Shower For a Delta

I was wondering if I could get some input from all the ladies that post on this board. I will be attending a baby shower for one of your sorors in a couple of weeks and I was wondering if some of you could help me with some gift ideas. She does not know what she is having nor does she have a theme for the bedroom. So any suggestions. Oh and also is it inappropriate to buy a gift for that is nalia since I am not greek? I ask beacause I have seen cute t-shirts that say "My mommie is a Delta" with cute little pictures and I was thinking about getting something like that. What do you guys think?

FYI about baby showers and since I'm a mommy.... please stick with practical items for the mother-to-be. Typically, Greek paraphernalia is not associated with baby showers.

Mothers-to-be normally register for items and those are normally very practical. She will need diapers, diaper cloths, onesies, cute little shirts (go with yellow if she doesn't know what she's having), I would not get bottles because all babies don't accept the same type of bottle. Mothers would love and appreciate diapers and anything that will get them through their first year. During the first year, the most money is spent on formula and diapers.

I agree, practical items are the best. Depending on how well you know our Soror, you could add a toy elephant to your gift. If the Soror would like her child to wear "My Mommy is a Delta" items (bear in mind, not all Deltas like these items), she will definetly buy them.

I've helped my sister raise her 3yr old daughter, and I can honestly tell you that pampers, diapers, money, and a few offers to babysit are invaluable!

Thanks ladies. I changed my mind about the nalia. A toy elephant sounds cute though, since we grown pretty close. Diapers huh? Yellow also? Thats cool. I ruled out a diaper bag because that seems to be the one gift that everyone buys. If i buy a really cute bag stuff it with diapers, onesies, socks, wipes, lotion etc. That would suffice? I just want to make sure I get her something nice. Thanks again
