i feel so sorry for you! he came to Ohio U tonight and it was amazing! That man made 1 hour seem like 10 min and you could tell how much he loved being here. If i hadn't bn a democrat before i definitely would be one now! i hope you all have a chance to see him or kerry for yourselves.

Like Cheney had much expierence when he became Vice Pres. He did with defense but big deal the job is just more than that.

Secretary of Defense is slightly more involved in the executive branch and the goings on of that than being a trial lawyer/senator for a couple of years.

On national security issues, one need only look at what John Kerry himself had to say earlier this year regarding Edwards’ inexperience. This is not the time for on-the-job training in the White House on national security issues." Just one month earlier, Kerry was quoted in The New York Times as saying, "When I came back from Vietnam in 1969, I don’t know if John Edwards was out of diapers then."

Ya know, if you're going to talk about Cheney's years of experience in Washington, and Edwards or Kerry's allegedly lackluster legislative record, it opens up the question of electing a president (4 years ago) who was at that time a one term governor of Texas.

Let's face it, candidates aren't elected on their records. It's a money and popularity contest.

Umm I was just wondering about Edwards' experience. I think the Democrats were the ones that turned this into his lack of experience.

Either way this was a discussion on Edwards and not on others.

Delt, dude, for someone who is generally the voice of experience and wisdom, you've made some increasingly bizarre connections in this forum - are you really that jaded on politics? If so, brother, let us discuss it rationally, w/out that jaded influence.

And electing governors is not something novel, let's remember the long history (on both sides) of pushing governors [on one level, precisely to avoid the public-record voting and performance fiascos that Kerry and Edwards have been saddled with, etc].
