Does GC now have Embedded Adverts?
OR do I have spyware? On every page like 5 words are highlighted and say sponsored link.

That's just annoying sounding.
I really despise these ad companies putting this crap out. Ticks me off.
Get adaware and spybot. Hopefully, that should take care of it.

Its you bro.
I have some sort of logger going on tho. I have cable internet and pages are loading slower. They used to load instantly.
I have both Ad-Aware AND Spybot and run them regularly. I have no idea whats going on. I think I'll just give up on it.

You said adverts like a British dude. Then everyone else started talking in computer geek language. Hee hee, this is a funny thread.

You just need to go into and do a scan of your registry and remove the offending code.
Do I know anything about computers?
No, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

It was doing the same thing to me about a week ago. I used Ad-aware and Spybot and it stopped.

Try rebooting in safe mode before running Ad-Aware or Spybot. Run McAfee too if you have it while you are in safe mode.

If you're using MSE on the new XP, it has a built in popup blocker that works fairly well.
I've just stayed on firefox though. Like you, I think it's pretty nice.

No, GC doesn't have text ads embedded in the forums.
Sounds like you have an adware/spyware program on your computer doing this or maybe even a virus. If it's adware, it might be a program called "Top Text" or possibly "Surf+"
Ad-Aware & Spybot have already been mentioned above. I generally prefer Spybot over Ad-Aware, but both are very good programs. Doing your spyware/adware & virus scans in safe mode would be best.

I switched over the summer and I recommend it to everyone!
Fast, safe, and even though Firefox has its bugs and spyware that is targeted to it, Firefox doesn't get hit by the bad stuff and there aren't driveby downloads.
