Delta Sig at the following schools..

I'm looking into going to one of these schools and am interested in how the Delta Sig's are. I had a friend who was a Delta Sig and was just curious of what their perception is at the following schools....

-Duke
-UNC-Chapel Hill
-Wingate
-UNC-Charlotte

Any help would greatly be appreciated! Thanks!!!

I can't tell you about the rep of Delta Sig at any of these schools, because I think that's pretty ridiculous. I'm imagining, "Well, Dad, I got into Duke... but I think I'm going to UNC-Charlotte instead because I heard that Delta Sigma Phi is the best fraternity there!" Why don't you choose which North Carolina college you want to go to by factors like academics, school size, location, etc?

But I will tell you that you might not want to go to Wingate... like 10.5 people go to that school and everyone is up in your business like crazy. Just my personal opinion. I'm sure the Greek Life experience there is vastly different than the Greek Life experience you would have at Carolina.

Good luck on trying to find out what a certain Group is like on a specific campus. Unless you have a contact on a campus, it is a crap shhot until you get their and meet them. Each Chapter will be different campus to campus.

First off, I would check the National Site out and see where they are located, how many Chapters and Locations. Check the ideals, what is done for Charitys which Greek Organizations are Big In even though it is never really printed in the media.

Remember tho, each Greek Organization is trying to advertise themselves.

Kilo, feel free to contact their rush chairs. They probably have their contact info posted on their website somewhere. If you're joining for the national organization (which I gues you are since you want to join only Delta Sig) why does it matter what the chapter is like?

I'll tell you that I'm damned glad I'm a Sigma Nu, but there are chapters that I sure as hell wouldn't have joined.

I'm with many of the people above here. Choose the school and then worry about the fraternity you want into. If Delta Sig is up to your standards there (and you're up to theirs), bonus! If not, c'est la vie. Choose another.

LOL ktsnake, Kilo is already a Delta Sig, from one of our model Pyramid chapters, Epsilon Tau at Grand Valley State. They always represent Delta Sig the right way, and have the honors to prove it.

I'm guessing he's transfering, or looking to advise at these schools. Or....someone logged in under his name...cause I've met this brother at convention.

Then don't look at other organizations

Actually, transferring into a chapter different from yourself, you can really bring something different to the group. Even almost singlehandedly change the group.

I am sure he just is checking around, all those schools are close enough to go visit for a night.

I know someone that almost pledged delta sig at UNCC- He said they were very nice group of guys that have a lot of fun. While he joined another group, he held high respect for Delta Sigs there.
