Help!!!
I have this super duper important interview on Thursday, and I haven't the slightest clue on how to wear this cute pinstripe career suit!!!
LoL
I bought it like a year ago, just because... it was on sale, and I figured I would need to start buying something like that for interviews for big kid jobs!
However, at the time, I didn't really think about what to wear under the jacket... like should I wear a shell? Or a collared shirt? And if I wear a collared shirt, what KIND of collar, and do I keep the jacket buttoned up all the time?
And what should I do with my hair? I have pretty long straight hair (goes to about mid-back) that I normally just brush in the morning and go... but for some reason it doesn't look right just down like that with the suit?
Glasses or contacts?
AAAAGGGGGH!
I want to look professional, but at the same time I want to look cute because I'm not like 90 or something!
Any help or insite, or pictures if you have them would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Just my $.02....I have relatively long hair. When going in for an interview, I usually pull my hair back into a ponytail. Putting my hair in a ponytail keeps me from messing with my hair, worrying about if it still looks ok by the time I get to the interview (gotta love the Dallas humidity), and overall I think it looks professional.

When I wore my suit to an interview I had, what I did is wore a fitted nice shirt under and buttoned the jacket. As for my hair, I have about shoulder length, but I too always pull it back otherwise I will play with it. As for glasses or contacts, right now I only wear my glasses, mainly because my contacts get dry super duper fast so they start to bug me pretty much after a couple of hours. Plus, I feel I look "smarter" with my glasses on. LOL.

I agree on the ponytail-- wear it low at the nape of your neck-- not like a cheerleader!! Also, about the shell or collared shirt-- wear what looks best with the suit-- if it is a hip/young suit I suggest wearing the collared shirt to give it a more hip/trendy young professional look!! The shell is a little older look I think--where I feel the collared shirt is a cleaner/fresh look!!
Good Luck honey!! You can do this! Be prepared-- know about the organization you are interviewing with and go over potential questions before the interview that they could ask you! Relax and take deep breaths before going in to the interview!! Be yourself and you will do fine!!!!!!!!!!

Defiantely agree with everyone.
You dont want to go into a interview looking old loking, but you also dont want to go into it looking too hip, they may think of you as young or something.
I agree a ponytail looks so much better. You dont want to go into a interview messing with your hair or it being all over, but it looks good in a ponytail.
I like contacts, but Ive been wearing my glasses lately, my contacts have been bothering me. I think if you want to impress people, wear glasses, but also go with what you normally do. I wore glasses to a interview once and got hired then wore contacts and the guy who hired me was like who are you? It confuses them sometimes lol. He did joke too and say so you wear glasses to look smart and professional huh lol. I actualyl wore them though cause I ripped my one contact lmao.
Relax, no matter what youll look great. Eye contact is key, good hand shake and always look at them when you answer and smile alot. I have gotten commenting on several interviews how great I am at interviews and how great it is that I always smile. I think it makes people feel you are likable and friendly.
Good Luck. Youll do great.

I feel obligated to put in a plug here---- Aren't you sooo glad you're in a sorority at a time like this? Recruitment is great preparation for interviews! Just think of all the strangers you talked to not too many weeks ago. Of course, PLEASE don't break out into chants and clapping during your interview, T*P! hee hee (wow- just think of all the life skills we're learning in a sorority!)

hehehe that's actually pretty true WLFEO!
I'll try my best not to bust out into "Little ADPi" (my favoritest ADPi song EVER!!!)!
Today I went to buy something to wear underneath and some new shoes!!!!
I actually decided to go with a cute cream colored shell, b/c it matches the stripes, and all the collar shirts I tried that the lady suggested I didn't really like the way they looked.
The shoes I got are madly cute!!! They are high heel pumps with the "point witch toe" thing going on.. hehehe. They are a black "mock croc" type material which is cool b/c it matches the purse I was planning on taking.
*whew*
So I found out today that the interview was NOT going to be on campus like they thought, but instead at their corporate HQ which makes it a little scarier.. hehehe. I guess I was relying on it being in an environment I was familar with ..... it takes like 45 mins to get to, but I figure right now I drive 30 mins to work, so an extra 15 mins is really not that big a deal.
AH!
I will be meeting 3 or 4 different people, so I guess that's why it will take so long (so it is kinda like sorority rush )

update -
Interview is in T minus 6 hours..... Weeeeeee!!!!
I have tons of great questions to ask, so I figure, if need be, I can spread them out over the 3 or 4 people I will be meeting.
I have mapquest directions to get there... but I'm leaving waaaay early, because I almost NEVER find something on the first try if it's a place I've never been to or around the area... so yea.. let's hope I can get there without a hitch!
Yay!
Off to class now
