Finer Womanhood Book

Has anyone come across the book titled Finer Womanhood by Walter "Big Walt" Anderson? This book is supposed to be the unauthorized history of our illustrious sorority. I ran across it on blackgreekbooks.com and had a few questions:

1. Who gave him the right to write such a book?

2. Where did he get his information?

3. Is he even greek?

Keep in mind, I have not read the book so I'm not sure what it entails but a soror from another state sent an e-mail saying it was good and answered a lot of her questions. Also, there are unauthorized histories of all the D9 so I would like to know what members of the other organizations have to say about this.

P.S.- Any info that can be offered on Walter Anderson would be greatly appreciated.

Whoever said the movie version of Pledge Brothers (The Brotherhood) was good, lied big time...it was worst than Bout It the movie in terms of looking like it was shot with a camcorder, not to mention the acting!

I agree with you about that movie....I could have done a better job at video recording and acting.

Thumbs down Re: Finer Womanhood Book

I don't think anyone should waste their money on his books. From what I've been told Walt is a Kappa and he has "written" books on all of the Divine Nine. A SisterGreek was making mention of his book on them and said that it was basically word for word off of their national website. He made the font bigger so that the book would be thick. I've gotten that email about his book but it's just a hype email. It's gone to a lot of different people and no one knows who this "Soror" is. What kills me about this email is that if the writer was actually a "Soror" she would not need someone outside of Zeta to tell her our history.

Re: Re: Finer Womanhood Book

The person who was circulating the email was not a Soror...it was an advertising tactic to make us think the person was connected for credibility purposes.

I agree!

I agree that if the "alleged" soror was really a soror, she would not need someone outside of our organization to teach her our history!

I also agree that we as an organization should not buy any of his books. Please pass this info on to other sorors so they will not get sucked into his nonsense.

I heard he's isn't Greek at all!

I found this topic in another message board, and people were stating that 'Big Walt' isn't in any organization, and he has spammed message boards from every NPHC org in order to get more support and make more money. It's a bit irritating to me: it would make more sense to me if someone who wrote these books were actually part of that organization! I'd rather have a book about the history of Zeta be written by a Zeta.

However, in this capitalistic society that we are fortunate to have here in America, if you see something missing, take care of it. If you see a void, fill it. So although it would have been ideal for the author to be in our beloved organization, I'm not mad at a person for doing what he or she has to do to make money. That is one reason why we need to get up and do things that will enhance and represent our organization ourselves.

A Soror on an email group I'm on said she went to school with him at what used to be East Texas State University (now known as Texas A & M University - Commerce) and that he is a Kappa. I'm not mad at him for putting together the book, I only hope it's not just copied and pasted from our IHQ site cause why should anyone pay for that?

enjoyed Finer Womanhood book

well, I enjoyed Big Walt's book Finer Womanhood. It helped me make my mind up. There are two other active orgs on my campus and I got all the books to help me choose Zeta. The Zetas on my yard are classy and I would hate to even think that there are other Zetas disrespecting another one of our bright brothers with that Slave mentality. As for the movie, if you really watched it the story is what all the talk and hype is about - it was UNREAL! I enjoyed that too so that is my luv and 2 cents!
