How is your Greek Week Organized??

I'm curious as to how other school approach greek week.

This is usually our schedule:

Day 1- Children's Fair/St.Jude's Letterwriting/Academic Decathalon

Day 2- Sports

Day 3- Sports

Day 4- Leisure Sports (i.e. pool, darts, bowling, ping-pong)

Day 5-"Olympic Day" (used to have funny relay races, now just tug-o-war, 4x100 relay and chariot races)

Day 6- Grand Finale--- GREEK SING!!!

Our sorority did a parody of the Tri-Lambdas and The Alpha Betas a la revenge of the nerds. We didn't win by a long shot, but it was fun dressing and dancing like a nerd.

They change it every year. Usually, we have sports, a blood drive, a philanthropy of some sort, Spring Sing, some athletic stuff. The last year I was active, we had a homemade cart push, an obstacle course and a few other things.

Didn't pay much attention.

We usually have 4 or 5 sports/competitive events each day from Monday-Saturday. Saturday is always the field things, like football finals, closest to the pin, and the last one is Tug o War and after that the trophy is awarded. Then the party is that nite.

Thumbs up Iowa State University GW

Click here for our Greek Week 2004 calendar.

There are so many things going on during Greek Week (should be Greek Month instead of Week), since several things started before the official GW kickoff, such as Penny War, Tournaments, Community Service, Blood Drive, and Lip Sync practice. Iowa State has one of the oldest and strongest Greek tradition in the nation.

The week is simple:
Monday: BBQ (show up at the Central Campus with your letters for pairing points)
Tuesday: Academic Recognition Night
Wednesday: Lip Sync first cut
Thursday: Lip Sync second cut
Friday: Greek Getaway (for highschool visit) and Lip Sync final cut
Saturday: Greek Olympics at Greekland, Polar Bear Plunge at Lake LaVerne
Sunday: Vespers and Closing Ceremonies
