Chapter Association Reunion

Hey all-my chapter is planning it's 20th anniversary, which we are celebrating during homecoming weekend in October. Please share some activities you think would be fun, or that you have experienced at your own reunions...we want to make this special, but don't want it to cost alot! Thanks!

Andi,

Lambda Xi just celebrated our 30th alumnae reunion. It was a very small affair, but really wonderful. We had it in conjunction with a home football game as well. All day, the house was open for tours to the alumnae. In the evening, we had a dinner at the house and awarded our Alumnae scholarships to 2 actives who were present. We didn't have any formal activites, but found that the ladies more than anything enjoyed getting together to see people they hadn't seen in a while and finding out what'd been going on with the chapter.

Let us know what you all end up doing, please - ideas are always great to share.

This is the plan so far:
Friday Night - attend bonfire together (families included)

Saturday -
morning - attend homecoming parade together

afternoon - tailgate party b/f football game

evening - casual catered dinner for members & spouses/significant others @ local establishment. There will be a slide show, opportunity to introduce ourselves to eachother & get re-acquainted & reminisce.... We are hoping to have one of the charter members speak, but it will not be too formal. We don't have a program as such, but are trying to think of one.

The chapter has arranged for babysitting @ the local gymnastics place for kids 3 and up, and separate sitting for those under 3 until 1 a.m. so the alums w/kids can take their time.

Sunday morning we will have our Chapter Association brunch meeting-mainly to "post-mortem" the weekend and talk about what the chapter & alums want to see happen in the next year an for the future...

We don't have a house, so there isn't a central place to congregate, which kind of stinks, but we never had one, so it isn't something we miss...I'm hoping the turnout will be good-so far the RSVP's are trickling in, although I've heard from many who plan to be there....I don't want the chapter to be disappointed by a lukewarm response b/c the alums have been making alot of noise for this to happen (so they better show up!!!)

One thing thats tough - hotels in Stephenville are hard to come by, and having this on homecoming weekend makes it tougher on people who want to come, but have to get a room 30 minutes away...I hope that isn't keeping people away.
