Soulmate ~ Documentary by Andrea Wiley
"There's a phenomenon happening in this country. Black women are not getting married in record numbers. Some of the most amazing black women I know are suffering silently in their singleness and nobody is talking about it. I want to ignite a dialogue that reveals truth and conveys a message of encouragement and purposeful living."
This was interesting Jacque Reid was talking about this film on the Tom Joyner Morning Show, if you go to Black America Web and scroll down you can hear what she said about the film http://www.blackamericaweb.com/site.aspx/tjms/missed/index
Link to watch the 3 minute trailer: http://www.soulmatefilm.com/thetrailer.htm
The DVD is available for purchase on the website.
Watch the trailer and let me know your thoughts.

If I hear another daggone black woman pity party that is even remotely related to "the down low" I will scream.
However, for Christian women, I appreciate the fact that the purpose of the DVD is to teach values of patience and celibacy.

Looking for a fresh perspective..
Hello Sorors and Friends,
I watched the trailer, and read a bit of the media kit and unfortunately did not really see a fresh perspective on this seemingly often talked about, overly discussed, popular topic of single black professional women and the "no man" in their life (LOL)
Now, I do believe that with prayer, and with faith God can make the impossible happen... and the documentary seemed to bring in that spiritual aspect...which will definitely not be discussed in the Time Magazine and Wall Street Journal articles that circulate about our "plight"... but trust me, all of my friends who are single have definitely been praying for mr. right LOL.
I guess I was hoping for some "answer" some new insight to this problem..but it didnt seem to give much. It just made me sad...

I don't disagree. The DVD, however, is for Christian women.
