Question of the day
HELLO ALL!
It's time for a trip down memory lane. We've been discussing some serious issues lately and it's time for RECESS! What was (or is) your favorite playground game or childhood memory?

KICKBALL!!!!! Me and my friends used to go to the local school yard and play, or if our parents wanted us to "Stay where I can see you." We used to play in the street/in the yard. And we had bases all over the place. Man, those were the days!! No bills, no worries!!

Yeah, when I go home to visit my family, I try to bribe the neighborhood into letting me play, but they won't let me.

My favorite childhood game. . .hmmm. . .Capture the Flag! I'm from WV and I lived right on the Ohio River growing up. There was an island in the river that was (and still is) uninhatited. The boyscouts used to canoe over to the island and camp and play war games and capture the flag. I was a tomboy growing up and loved to play with my brother and his friends, so naturally I wanted to join the boyscouts instead of girlscouts. So I got to do a lot of games and such with the boyscouts because of my brother, but they never let me join.
My favorite childhood memory. . .going fishing with my dad. I was not exactly a child, I was in jr. high, but that is my favorite memory because it was just the two of us and we really had a great time and really bonded. My dad is my hero.

I've never heard of chinese jump rope, but we did play chinese freeze tag.
With Chinese jump rope, you used a continuous stretchy-rope(kinda like a bungee cord without ends). Two people would stand in the rope and stretch it out with their ankles. A third person would then sing "In, out, side by side, on, in, off," while simultaneously doing those moves with the rope.
Does that help?

Kickball, for sure at school! At home...oooh, the huge games of hide and seek, flag football, and ultimate frisbee (thought we didn't call it that at the time), all rolled into one....it was crazy!

Yeah times have truly changed...
Recently I chaperoned my little cousin's birthday party (she turned 8), and it was like 6 little girls. Man, kids are so "grown" these days, they don't play "hide and go seek", they play "Hide and go get "it""!! THis one little girl in particular was so vulgar that I wanted to call her mother sooo bad, so I told my cousin's mother... and she was like that's no need, her mother acts the same way!!
As far as I can remember, when I was 8 yrs old, the only boys that were on my mind were my age, these little ones were swooning over MY friend (whose like 23!!)
What happened????
Anyway, what about skates, and hula-hoops, and M.A.S.H.(anybody remember that game but me?), and double-dutch, and hop-scotch, and RED ROVER, and Tag,
Okay, that's enough.....
Next person....you're "IT"...GO

hop-scotch and, on the playground, that thing that spun around... so you could get good and dizzy if you ran fast enough before jumping onto it... I can't make the name of it come into my head - anyone know?
