Dink
He gets a thumbs down, as do all the other athletes with elaborate TD celebrations. Carrying that pen in his sock was stupid and dangerous. Whatever happened to the Ickey shuffle (LMAO) OR just tossing the ball back to the ref?

I think that this is completely out of line. Especially when considering the other show-boating that he has done. A little celebration is fine. My team is the Packers. I'm ok with the Lambeau Leap. Not just because it's my team, but because the fans get involved in the celebration and it in no way disrespects the other team. And it also seems to me that the players who do the Leap are thanking the fans because they wouldn't be there without them...especially in Green Bay's case since it's owned by the public (including me!).
Anyway, back to T.O....he could have just given the ball to his friend after the td, or kept the ball to autograph later. I just don't like huge showoffs.

Thoughts
Former NFL wide receiver Michael Irvin, he of the mink coat, lime-green suit and derby, was talking about this on Jim Rome's show today. Irvin, not surprisingly, got off on it and found it funny.
I found it amusing. I would also expect someone like Deion Sanders, if he were still playing, to do so. But I can see where the Seahawks were angry.
I just hope that hard-core retaliation isn't on the minds of the 'Hawks on Dec. 1, when the rematch is scheduled in San Francisco.

Huh???
Wait, I don't get it. I read the article and I still don't get it. All this fuss because he autographed the ball after a touch down? I'mma need for someone to tell me that he wrote "Holmgren is an a$$hole with a sh*tty record" and then threw the ball in his face. Then maybe I could understand all the commotion.
The article says:
Many members of the Seahawks -- not Springs, however -- were angered by Owens' celebration, with Holmgren calling it "shameful'' and "a dishonor to anyone who ever played this game.'' More than one Seattle player suggested retaliation might be in order when the teams play at San Francisco on Dec. 1.
Again, I say, HUH??? What is so shameful and dishonorable about what he did? Boastful, egotisitical and tacky, yes. Disrespectful, no. And what could they possibly do to retaliate? LMAO.
I'm with Terrell on this one..... sounds like a bunch of whiny, sore losers to me.

I think it's kinda cute, actually.
I can appreciate how players have their own style, and I think it keeps the game interesting -- and I don't see how what he did is disrespectful to anyone.

Funny
I personally don't see what all the fuss is about? I mean we have bigger things to concentrate on than a football player's actions after a touchdown!! I think it is clever and was probably meant in a lighhearted way. And I think we all need something something to smile at these days!

Deion cracks me up.
I was just saying that I would expect him, with his showmanship and flamboyance, to do something similar to T.O.

If Koren Robinson or Shaun Alexander had done it for the Seahawks, we all laugh about it and it goes into Madden 2004.
Since it was TO, it's a total asshole move . . . I didn't love it, but didn't think it was out of line in general, I just prefer the Barry Sanders "Run ball to Ref" move more.
