Rec Question

I have a friend who is in a sorority at my school, and she asked some alumni she knows to send recs for me. If I don't know them, should I still get their names and addresses to send them a thank-you note after Rush? I thought it would be a nice gesture, but some people are telling me I shouldn't worry about it. What do you think?

Absolutely, most definitely send a thank you note. In fact, do it before recruitment begins.

You should always thank someone for assisting you or helping you, even if that person is a stranger.
