Eerie, cheesy, or just coincidence??

<dorkiness>

So don't jump on me for being crazy (I already know that I am ), but I do believe that things happen for reasons... Not, perhaps, ALL things, but some things are just meant to be.

Ready for the lunacy?? Here's my story - -

When I was younger, 11 or 12 maybe, my neighbors were moving and had a garage sale. At that age (well, still now I guess), I loved garage sales - - but I missed this one. *sigh* I was riding my bike around the neighborhood later that night and saw their trash pile (I guess they elected to get rid of everything they didn't sell) and it pretty much just looked like a big comforter covering trash. Not sure what possessed me, but I stopped to snoop. Lo and behold, I uncover a 2 ft (almost) tall ceramic Snake (a cobra, to be precise), real detailed and painted nicely. My first thought was "well this is neat, it's a big snake, it'll scare my mom!!"... Being a real imaginative child, my second thought was "It looks real old and scary..Well not scary, but..seceretive.. Maybe it belonged to some club or something. Maybe it was a mascot. That'd be a cool mascot!!! Maybe..." etc.

Fast forward 7 years.

I get into SK and love it. Had been active for probably a semester or so and was making a new screen name for AIM (amySKsnake) and realized (Looking up at my snake) - -Club..Mascot..Snake (yes, I still had it, 7 years later - - who knows why I kept it)..Sig Kap!!!!!!!! How neat is that!? It then became the Sigma Kappa Snake

OHHHHHH IVE GOT ONE!!!!!!!!!!

When I was younger ... and my mom drove me to school ... we always passed the frats at Tufts (cause I live 2 blockes from there) ... and if any of you have ever seen it, Theta Chi has a house (like 3 floors i guess?) with letters bigger than me on it. So everyday I passed I wondered what they ment ... cause I knew nothing about greek life nor was I going to ask anyone ... so one day ... around junior high I guess ... I thought to myself, (and im being serious here ... ) "Someday Im going to figure out what those letters are" ...

now Im a Simga Kappa and TADA! Umass Amherst has a Theta Chi on its campus

Just as cheezy as Amy's story!! LOVE YOU AMES!

I guess I have one, too. My two best friends and I always exchanged Christmas ornaments in middle school, just because we were goofy like that. After my first semester of college, I came home and I was going through some of my things that I needed to throw away. I was fishing around through some old storage boxes, and I found one of the ornaments from 6th grade that they had given me - it was a dove! Whoa, dude...

Have these two words occured to anyone else: Mystic Bond. There ya go. It's what my chapter has always called those kind of things. And a lot of us have them.

Example -One sister went through recruitment -3- times before she found Sigma Kappa and knew it was home. She became the biggest Super Sigma that I have ever known.

Here's mine:
After I was an alum and debating about whether to reactivate or not, I was looking in the mirror one day and I had some freckles that hadn't been there before....In the shape of an equilateral triangle. Strange. And they are still there, with none anywhere near them.

So there you have it.

Well, here's two of mine.

When I was a little girl, I received for Christmas a doll that I absolutely loved!!! I adored that doll and had her for years before my mom threw her out b/c my mom thought she was horrendous and too old and dirty. I cried & refused to buy a doll after that b/c no one could replace my precious doll.

What was so precious about my doll??? Well, I realized a few odd coincidences.

My doll had an adoption certificate. Her name was Elizabeth (founding member), she wore a pretty pearl necklace, and her dress was lavendar with a pretty maroon bow on the front.

My second odd story was that when I decided to rush, I told my boyfriend about it and he helped me research the sororities. I did not tell him my preferences but when I called to tell him that I had received a bid, we celebrated by going out to dinner and he gave me a gift.

He gave me a pretty necklace with a dove pendant. I was stunned and told him about the Sigma Kappa dove. He looked surprised and told me that when he went into the store, he knew right away that I would love the necklace. He's not one to be too superstitious but he tells me that it was the first one he saw and just had a feeling that it would be right.

Yay!!!

Here's my story:

So when I was confirmed in the church in 8th grade my mom gave me an Isabell Bloom (a famous sculptor from where I grew up) that was a dove. Later years I didn't take it as too much of a sign untill I looked closer at it one day. There were three stones set in on the chest of the dove. One of the stones was in the perfect shape of a heart. Two symbols in one! Now thats eerie!

This isn't as eerie as your stories, but my favorite color has always been lavendar... my room was even painted purple when I was a kid...
and my grandmother handed me down a pearl necklace that has been in the family for years.
One of my high school colors was maroon... but I didn't really have a choice about that...

Actually, this is probably nothing like what you guys are talking about at all... but I thought it was cool.

when i was like 8 i think, my aunt started me on a add-a-pearl necklace for every occasion (ie bdays, xmas, easter). she did that up until the store that sold them stopped doing it. so i have a half finished pearl necklace that im wearing when i get married.. its not too eerie or anything, but just odd that you start an 8 year old off with an add-a-pearl necklace
