Uplifting Story
I found this in the Tacoma News Tribune and thought I would share it with everyone. It only briefly mentions her sorority affiliation, but it's still nice to see when so many stories about Greeks are negative.
And yes, this is my alma mater.........

I'm glad to see something like this in the news. Usually the media (especially in Berkeley... ) is always trying to portray us as rich little snots who have nothing better to do than drink, engage in promiscuity or cause trouble and haze ourselves to death. ...and when we, as Greeks, do do something good (which is more often than not!) it's always on the back page of the newspaper (we often make jokes how its at the bottom of the opinion section...) -- but when we do something bad, no matter how trivial -- it is ALWAYS seems to be frontpage news... ALWAYS.
It warms my heart to see a story like this though. She's a shining example of everything Greeks really are and should aspire to be.

It is wonderful story!! Was she able to raise the tuition for the "study overseas" program she wanted? She definitely deserves to go...

What an Inspiration this could be to so many young people!
Against All Odds, Here is a beautiful Young woman who has decided, enough is enough!
It is a shame that just a slight mention is made about "Her" Soroity House and not mention who She is a member of.
Give Her the biggest round of applause for someone who has come from adverse circumstances and is making good!
Thank you so much for posting this. I was touched deeply. Yepper, tears in eyes!

Quit being vain and get out those reading glasses, Old Man
You gotta read more than the first half of the article:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Graham sketches out her weekly schedule: Spanish, literature, political science classes; 15 hours a week working in the office of the Associated Students of the University of Puget Sound; 10 to 25 hours at her baby-sitting job for two little girls whom she calls her "second family"; involvement with Lighthouse (a campus group for Christian students); Bible study classes; sorority meetings at the Pi Beta Phi house; mentoring younger students. It adds up.
