APO location Quiz
From where you are sitting right now, do you...
1) know where the closest active chapter is?
2) know where the closest inactive chapter is?
3) know where the closest school without an active chapter that could have APO at it is?
Randy
(My answers are 1)Georgetown U. (Mu Alpha), 2) Gallaudet U. 3) Marymount University. I'll answer this again tonight since two of the three will be different )

2) Iota Upsilon - Slippery Rock University

*Excited because almost every college in the city of Pittsburgh has a chapter, and they're all active... DAMN! I wish I knew this at the beginning of the summer...*

Closest Active: University of Maryland College Park (by two tenths of a mile over American University
Closest Inactive: Gallaudet U. (Only inactive in DC makes it easy to be sure
Closest without a charter: Columbia Union College. (by a smidgen over U of DC)

2. Mu Omega Currently inactive at University of Tampa (5 minutes away) The are currently a PG
3. FGCU or SPC, St. Leo actually has more greek life. I mentioned SPC cause I have applied to work in student activities and SPC already has honor fraternities.

Chapters in Pittsburgh
I'm an alumnus of Kappa Chapter in Pittsburgh. When I pledged it was just Kappa (CMU) and Pi Chi (Duquesne) active. Its gotten a little thicker with chapters since. I think Kappa has a tradition over the last 20 years or so that every 3-4 years, some group in the chapter decides that it wants to have a chapter at Chatham. Any section staff member that has been there a while just rolls their eyes. But since the APO quality schools with no active chapter are so few in that area of PA, sometimes they get to try...

Closest active chapter: Lambda Nu, Duke University
Closest inactive chapter: Tau Delta, N.C. Central University
As for the third question, pretty much every college in the region is covered (either they have a chapter, it's inactive, or the school no longer exists)
UNC-Pembroke is petitioning as we speak....

\\\ Well, I forgot about Shaw, and as for Peace College, we can include Meredith College (both all-female schools). If one were started at either of those campuses, would they be the only APO chapter at an all-female school, or are there more?

@ erica812... I'm always excited to hear about brothers in the area. I just wish I would've tried to get contact with some this summer instead of being so consumed with my internship and finding a job.
@ naraht... I was pleased to see that all these Pittsburgh-area had active chapters... and like I said before, I only wish I'd known sooner....

on all-female colleges w/ chapters
QUOTE]would they be the only APO chapter at an all-female school, or are there more?[/QUOTE]
Cedar Crest College in PA, (Region II), chapter designation Alpha Epsilon Kappa, is an all-female institution, so Meridith or Peace wouldn't be the first. I don't know of any others off the top of my head!
