Question HELP! I need a good self-tanner!

Hi!

My name is Jennifer, I am pretty new to Greek Chat, I just found this chit chat board over the weekend.

I need some help finding a good self-tanner, and I thought, who better to ask than my fellow greeks! I need help! We live in England, and have been here for the past three years, and it's hard to keep from being pasty-white year round! We had a lot of sun this summer, so I finally got a little color, and would like to maintain it with a good self-tan. What you y'all recommend?

And has anyone tried the spray on tan booths? If so, does that work well? We don't have anything like that around here locally, but I will be in OK next summer for my sister's wedding and might consider something like that, if it's highly recommended!

Thanks ahead of time!

Jennifer

I've used the Mystic tan (discussion in the linked thread above) and it works very well, although it is a little annoying that it lasts a short time and is kind of costly at $25 a session. I use the Clarins Self Tanning Instant Gel for face and body and I love love love it. I have a couple friends with varying skins tones that use Clarins as well. I would talk to the person at the counter to determine which one is right for you, but I highly recommend the one I use. Hope this helps!

The mouse self-tanner by Clinique is FABULOUS! Just be sure to work in small sections (it dries really fast). Also, I always put vasaline on my hands before hand to avoid getting stained palms and nails. I'd recommend washing your hands and reapplying vasaline a few times during the process (again, because it dries fast).

I remember someone mentioning the Neutrogena self tanner that is pretty new on the market. It's a foam I believe.

I generally use whatever is on sale... or I just go pasty white. Nothing wrong with it.

I would definately recommend the mystic tan. Yeah, it's a little expensive, but it's worth it. It wasn't foolproof by any means, but it was alot easier than the at home stuff. And, the color was a little better to.

I get the feeling that the key with self-tanner is exfoliating beforehand and making sure the color goes on evenly.

My roomie and I use Bain de Soleil streakguarde foam. IT is awesome. Number 1 - its foam, so it goes on smoother and lighter *not heavy like a lotion* Number 2 - Its tinted,so you know where you're putting it and where it's going Number 3 - Its cheap!!!

When in doubt always use a foam!!!

I agree with them on the foam.
Neutrogenas foam is awesome and has a bronzer- for a little more expensive one, also a foam is whipped chocolate- and IT SMELLS like chocolate.
YUM!
