What to do in Huntington Beach area?
So in a few weeks my company is flying me out to Huntington Beach for business. One of my co-workers advised that I fly out early the first day so I can do some sight-seeing. I think I'll be arriving at SNA at about noon. I might drive down to Camp Pendleton to visit a friend if he won't be deployed to Iraq by then, but if not I'd love to know what there is to do!

Hi astroaphi, I'm excited that you get to visit us over here on the west coast. There is definitely a lot to do in the area. Huntington Beach is great for going to the beach, and they also have a lot of cute shops on main street. Depending on how long you're staying or want you wanted to do. If shopping is your thing, then I suggest going to South Coast Plaza, it's in Costa Mesa (not too far from Huntington) it's got a lot of great stores especially if you're into high retail, or any retail. Or like others have said, you can go to an amusement park, Knotts and Disneyland are the closest. Or if you don't feel like spending all day at a theme park, Disneyland has Downtown Disney, which is right next door, it has a lot of shops and restaurants, but no rides. Will you be driving?? Do you want to leave Huntington, or stay in the area?
Let me know, and I'll give you more ideas.

I'll have a rental car, so driving isn't a problem.
Basically I'll have a whole long afternoon, and then 2 days after work to do stuff, so I have a feeling a theme park is out.
How pricey is South Coast Plaza?

Well, it has all kinds of stores in it. It really depends on what you like. I mentioned the higher retail stores because it usually draws a lot of tourists. Plus, its a nice mall. It has everything from Victoria's secret to Express, to Tiffany & Co., to Louis Vuitton.

Hey there,
I would suggest getting a tour guidebook for the Los Angeles and Orange County areas of California. If you've never been to Disney and don't mind spending almost $50 on a ticket then I say go. Depending on what day you go I may even be able to meet you there as I have an annual pass.
Have you been to So. California before? When you think of Los Angeles what are places you want to see?

Never been any further west than the Continental Divide (that'd be in Colorado). I live in Florida, so I've been to Disney World quite a few times. Is Disney Land really all that different?
I have no idea what I want to see really! I'm definitely up for anything.

Yeah, if you've been to Disney World, then no need to waste money on going to Disneyland...
Definately go see our beaches!
Like everyone else has mentioned, South Coast Plaza is a cool place to go shopping.
And Huntington Beach's Main St. is pretty cool, especially at night...
