Why I Love Chicago

Since we have lots of threads about NYC I think Chicago needs some love.

I'll start:

The skyline. Best in America!
Wrigley Field...a baseball shrine!
The Wrigleyville/Boystown area
El stations right across from the airport (Midway) or actually in the airport (O'Hare), so there's a cheap way to get downtown from there.
The Printers Row Book Fair
Taste of Chicago
Grant Park
All the museums
Sitting in front of "Nighthawks" at the Art Institute

I love Wrigley!

Shopping on Michigan Ave. in the spring with the tulips, or at Christmastime.

H&M!

Michigan Avenue in the winter, when all the lights are up, is gorgeous.

-Ice skating at the new rink on Michigan Ave.

-Wrigleyville and my Cubs, win or lose

-the diversity-- Greektown, Chinatown, the Korean area,Boystown...I love all of it

-the weather- snow at christmas and hot (but not too hot or humid, although today kinda sucks) in the summer

-The beach! I live in the middle of the U.S. 20 minutes north of Chicago, and 5 minutes from the beach

-The Chicago Art Institute has a huge Picasso/O'Keefe collection

-going off the diversity thing..I think people are culturally advanced here than in some other cities I've visited. No, we're not New York City, but there is a huge African American/Jewish/Polish/Korean population and I think all of that makes our city's climate very well rounded.

-The B'hai Temple- amazing, almost kind of a wonder of the world, like how did it ever get here???The Bahai Temple Trust me, the pics don't do it justice.
I LOVE CHICAGO!!!

I like the food, clubs and music, diversity, architecture and shopping. I love the neighborhoods too, at least the ones that haven't been completely taken over by the yuppies yet.

Jules, I love the Baha'i temple too and have been there several times. It's amazing.

When I was really little my family used to go to Chicago Christmas Eve night and walk the storefronts looking at the displays...it was so awesome....

I like the people in Chicago. Not as pretentious as some other places.

I find people from Chicago to be a bunch of pigs. You go to a nice restaurant and people are cursing. Sometimes you go to a bar and you see a bunch of cow-tipping morons and feel like you stepped into a frat party without an invite.

I still have difficulty remembering where anything cool is or how to find my way around because I take a lot of cabs everywhere.

However, the thing I love about Chicago is the cleanliness factor as well as the architecture. I like the lake. I like the restaurants. I like all the natural blondes. I like not knowing whether they really are natural blondes. I like the zoo, the driving range nearby, and the harbor with all the pretty boats.

Why I love Chicago:

Even if you don't have a car you can get just about anywhere

All the Festivals and Parades (African Festival of the Arts is my favorite)

We have some of the best museums in the world

We have a unique music & dance style (steppin', house music, foot work)

There's always something to do!

In terms of diversity: Chicago is very diverse but is one of, if not THE, most segregated cities in the country.

I love Chicago, too!

Love the Chicago Fire Soccer Team!
Love the Sports stations!
Love the diversity on the radio!
Love the food (hate the portion size, though - TOO BIG!!)!
Love mr. honeychile!

But y'all really don't have the best skyline. I'll give Chicago the Top Ten in the USA, but certainly not the best.
