DZ Killarney Rose (attention: dzrose93)
Hi dzrose93,
I saw your post on the Delta Gamma forum that you're looking to find a Killarney Rose (similarly to how, I, as a DG, am looking for a DG rose).
My suggestion is that you write to:
John Walter of Kimbrew Walter Roses
kwroses@hotmail.com
or call 1-877-597-6737
He is very knowledgeable about roses and may be able to help you out. He was able to answer my DG Rose question.
Good Luck!

As it was explained to me during my new membership, the Kilarny Rose doesn't exist any longer. It supposedly died out. I don't know if this is a myth or if my sisters were misinformed.

I did an internet search and found this site:
http://www.helpmefind.com/sites/rrr/roses.html
When I entered Killarney, several things came up, it's worth checking out.

Oops, forgot to say this in my earlier post... The Killarney Rose is still available, although difficult to locate in the States. It was a fairly new rose when Delta Zeta's founders chose it to be our flower. Actually, another sorority chose it for theirs as well (can't recall the name right now). Anyway, they are available today. The only problem is that only 3 places in the U.S. grow them at the moment. They are more commonly grown in the United Kingdom.

That would be the Alpha Xi Delta's. Our flower is the pink Killarney Rose.

In Blackwood, NJ (I think), I saw a florist advertising "DZ roses." The only chapter I can think of in the area is at Rowen college. They must have been having a formal or something, or maybe it stood for something else.
Any thoughts? I hope to stop in and see what it means...

Okay, I'll admit that the first time I saw one of those "DZ roses" signs outside of the florist shop, I thought...wow...Delta Zeta.
Unfortunately what DZ means is "DOZEN"!
Awww shucks!
