Question for girls about facial products
Hey GC ladies, I have a question about what kind of facial products you use! My question is this: I have combination skin ( oily T-zone, dry cheeks and chin), and I was thinking about starting to use a toner. Do any of you who have the same kind of skin use toner? And if so, do you like it, and what would you recommend? Thanks ya'll!

for toner i use Mario Badescu Alpha Grapefruit toner. i love it. i like their lotion too. i also use this great exfoliotar that i can't think of the name right now and will look when i get home if you want to know what it is. i'm also a huge fan of laura mercier's skincare line, but she doesn't make a toner.

And it sounds like mine. I have been using Origins United State for about a year now. But Burts Bees puts out some good skin care stuff and it's organic. I was thinking of switching to his line of skin care once I am through with my toner.

Try looking through the Kiehl's website. They have a wide assortment of facial stuff for all the different skin types.

I dont use toner cuz it tends to dry me out, I use Shiseido's hypo-refinining softener. Try it at the mall. Cliniique's "step 3" is not bad. you should sample around the mall to see what works for you.

I use Clinique Clarifying Lotion Number 2 which is designed for combination skin. It's the lavender one.

chideltjen...I lllooooovvveee Burt's Bees. I just can't use most cleansers, but since Burt's stuff is at least 90% all natural, they don't bother me. Same with the other products. I use the Lettuce Toner, and it's good for normal to dry skin. It's not harsh at all. I also use Burt's Cinnamint toothpaste...there's just something in "regular" toothpaste that makes me cough and gag...not so with the all natural products.
If you're not sure if you'll like the products, pick up a trial size facial kit. They usually come with a cleanser, bar soaps, moisterizing cream, toner, a scrub, a mask, and some lip balm. Also, they're pretty cheap and you get multiple uses out of each sample.
You'll be amazed at how harsh other products seem after using the all natural products. Also, depending on the brands you use, Burt's is not much more expensive, and in some cases a lot cheaper. Plus, it seems like they last forever.

I use Clinique's toner, I think they have 4 different solutions and they match which one would best suit your skin type. Also, H20 makes a great facial mask that peels off when dry and makes your skin feel totally luxurious. If you have problems with blemishes, The Body Shop had these great Tea Tree Oil blemish pads that help minimize them.

I just bought some Alouette products that will be arriving in a few days. I'll let you know how I like them after I get them.

I am in love wih Mario Bedescu's line. His drying lotion is a miracle worker for even the worst blemishes that pop up.

Right now I am using Nivea cream cleanser and Nivea toner. I'm using the Dove mosturizer for sesitive skin.
It's okay. It hasn't done anything bad (I have sesitive and very dry skin), but it's not something I would rave about.
I haven't found anything that I reall like and works wonders.
I wonder if I can get that Burt's Bees stuff here?

Do you have any Trader Joe-like stores in Canada? Whole Foods may have stores in Canada. I have also seen Burts Bees stuff in Longs Drugs, Bath and Body Works, etc down here. Maybe something similar?

I don't believe we have Whole Foods here. At least none in the Greater Toronto Area.
We do have a store called Lush, which makes all natural products, but I think they only sell their own products, no one elses. I'll have to see though, if not I should maybe try some of Lush's products.
ETA: Lush doesn't carry it, but the Health Food/Natural product stores might carry it.
