Post Probably an ODD question:

There is a possibility I might be going back to school. Can I be active with DZ again? I think you can only be gone for a semester, then you can't become active again if you're gone from school longer than that. I just wanted to make sure though.

Are you going back as a graduate student or as an undergrad? I know that if you're a graduate student you can't. My suggestion would be to e-mail Nationals and ask them what the stipulations would be. Good luck! Let us know what you find out! I'm curious to know!

Undergrad. I never finished school the first time around. I'd be going back with a completely different major.

I would think that coming back to collegiate status wouldn't be a problem. I do remember one of our sisters who went alum for a while coming back during my senior year. As a member of exec, I had to listen to her request to return. Then, we officially voted on it as an exec board, and reinstated her as a collegiate. It was really just a formality though. We all knew she would be allowed back in with no problem. I can't remember how long she was gone, though.

Hey sorry to intrude, but are you sure you can't be an Active if you are a Grad Student? The reason I ask is that some of the GLO that I am familiar with don't require Grad Students to stay or become active (imagine being forced to be active for 8 years because of a combined undergrad Ph D program?) but if they want to BE active nothing says they can't be . . .

I'm horning in too. My roommate from junior year dropped out of school for a year & 1/2 and then came back and was active. As long as you don't have outstanding $$$ you should be OK.

James - I think grad students usually go on what is called special status. They don't have to attend everything but can go to the formals, rush parties etc if they want to. It's almost impossible for them to be on the same membership status as undergrads cause the grad programs are so much more time consuming.
