Angry Credit Card Fraud

I just got my credit card bill in the mail yesterday. Interesting that I owe my bank R25,000 for a spending spree in Taiwan last month. WTF? I was nowhere near Taiwan last month. The closest I got to Taiwan was Mozambique. Now I have to write a statement saying that it was not me and somebody else used my credit card fraudently.

Daaang that sucks.

I thought most credit card companies are supposed to be calling folks if you make purchases that are odd.

Happened to me after a trip to Italy, too. They only got me for about $1500. Somebody in a store or restaurant where you used it, swiped your CC number & probably sold it. Happens every day there. You will be completely amazed at how quick & easy it is to get this taken off of your card. I didn't even have to write a letter.

Be safe rather than sorry later- cancel that card number now & ask for a new credit card number.

From one victim of CC fraud to another...

Dood, sorry to hear about that.

Sometimes banks/CC companies are really vigilant about checking for fraud, others aren't. I know Citibank prides itself on being hypervigilant about it. One time I got a call from them telling me that they had reason to suspect fraud--I had gone to dinner and used my debit card, which I rarely ever do. I'm glad they're looking out for stuff like that. On the other hand, they didn't notice when someone decided to pay their AT&T Wireless bills with the card--but now that they know, they temporarily credited my account and are getting me a new card.

Man you have no idea about credit card fraud. Someone spent a ton of money (I think it was over 10 grand but i don't remember anymore) on my credit card that was under my mom a long time ago.

Guess what it was spent on? Fricking net porn.

She actually went through every single spent item to ask if it was me and let me tell you, telling your mom you haven't gone to big asian ass is ridiculous.

Someone stole my mother's American Express card and charged over $9,000 in jewelry. It was quickly removed from her card. Amex is good like that.

This has been happening in New Hampshire recently. A group of men from China, came here, got jobs in Chinese Food places.. and used a device called a "skimmer" which copies the credit card #, then sends it to a databank in another country, where a duplicate card is made and then used.

I've never had this happen to me, but a close friend did. It was miserable for him. :\

I'm sorry this happened to you.. and I really hope you get it all straightened out soon!!
