I felt REALLY proud to be an XYZ when.....
When were you ESPECIALLY proud to be a part of your org??? You know, those moments that reminded you of how much you love your org?
I felt especially proud to be a Sigma when:
*Our girl Bree won 2nd place in the Greek Week talent show, and the ENTIRE chapter was there to see her.
*We won Most Improved at Greek Week Awards.
*We unveiled our new house plans @ Founder's Day this year, in front of hundreds of our alumnae.
* We won 2nd place in Derby Days Dodgeball.
*I came to the house, pulled an all-nighter, and got a ride to class in the morning.
*When one of us got in a minor fender bender, 20 of us showed up to make sure she was okay.
*Seeing all the other greeks come out to support our new bowling tournament philanthropy.
I'd love for you to share yours.
Greek Luv,
JocelynC

I was proud to be a SIGMA KAPPA when:
*Jen gave me huge props for memorizing the history of Sigma Kappa in less than a week
*My big decided she wanted me to be her lil & a twin after meeting me the first time!
*Fighting w/my boyfriend & the ladies were all willing to sit with me, sympathize, & feed me ice cream while I cried & moped.
*Meeting a wonderful woman at Founders Day who was receiving her 50 year pin & having her tell me I was an asset to the organization *tears up*.
*Being told by a new member that she hopes to wear her letters & badge as proudly as I wear mine
FINALLY
*Having my anti-greek mom receive my composite & say that of all the organizations in the world I could have joined, she's glad I joined one that has a wonderful mission, reputation, & has caring & classy ladies at its helm.

I felt proud to be a DELTA GAMMA when.....
*We won 1st place during Homecoming with PIKE
*We had the largest turn out ever for Anchor Bowl this year (we have a hard time getting the pool so we have a flag football tourny)
*I watched all the seniors graduate and realized how lucky I was to share something with so many amazing women
*When I read WhiteDaisy's letter she had written to Cosmo about her mother and why DG was important to her
*My mother told me how proud she was at my decision to join Delta Gamma. Especially since she is a Kappa.
*My ex-boyfriend's grandmother told me that when she was in college the Delta Gamma's were always the nicest, classiest and most beautiful girls she'd known.
*I realized that I had 89 best friends and thousands of sisters.

i felt proud to be a DG when:
*my chapter turned around our numbers in 2001 and recruited the biggest pledge class since who knows when which put us back in the top 3 on campus.
*when i was at cdc interviews and met 18 other women who, even though we were all from different chapters, embodied what sisterhood really means in one weekend.
*when my chapter celebrated it's 125th Anniversary of continuous existence at Akron on March 15, 2004.
*when i got to experience the colonization, recruitment, and initiation of a colony.

I feel so proud to be an SAI when....
*When one sister rear-ended another on the way to our camping trip, they were more worried that each other was going to be okay than the fact that one of their cars was totalled!
*One of the sisters referred a rushee to me saying, "ask Allie, she knows EVERYTHING there is to know about SAI!"
*I hear live performances by distinguished sisters...makes me realize what wonderful, talented sisters we have out there
*I think this is my favorite. At the beginning of pledging, we have the Members-in-Training write about "what SAI means to me", where they write about why they chose to join, etc etc. Kate, who was my soon-to-be lil sis, wrote that I was the reason she decided to pledge.

OMG.
How to say how proud one is Of XYZ!
Seeing a Local Become a Member of A National.
Being in the Top GPA for many years.
Seeing New Associtates who are now Graduated and holding very good jobs and doing well.
Seeing the good times fall to the bad times and recovering.
Having a OLD Alum come back for the first time in years and have a screw up with His Rental car and an Active saying 'Here, take my Keys to my car"!
Having met Brothers on GC and getting to know them from all over the countries.
Having visited other Chapters and made to feel at home and welcome.
Oh, to hard to count the ways!

I felt really proud to be a Sigma Kappa when. . .
*Before I even came to any recruitment events one of the SK's who lived on my floor inviting me personally and telling me how well she thought I would fit in with the other girls.
*Right after my initiation cermony I got a call from my mom that I should go to see my uncle because he had been sick and he was getting worse. I loved the fact that as soon as I came back I could walk down the hall and have my new sisters there to listen to me and help me out.
*After my uncle passed away all of my sisters being there for me and many of them calling me as soon as they found out what had happened, coming back to school the next day with messages all over my dry erase board telling me that they would be there if I needed anything, and all the little notes and poems they left in my room for me the night before.
*Winning Chaper of Excellance and having the Greek Women of the Year from our chapter.
*Sharing memories with the seniors before they left, and knowing that even tho we only spent a year in school together they would be there for me for a lifetime!
I *heart* Sigma Kappa!

I felt really proud to be a Phi Sigma Sigma when:
* I was invited to be a founding member of my chapter even though I was a 30 something year old grad student
* On initiation day (and every one I've been to since)
* when I was installed as Membership Orientation Chair (founding year), then Archon (2nd year), and then Scribe (4th year)
* when we won Most Spirited Organization our first year on campus
* When we've won Outstanding organization on campus the past three years in a row
* when I watched 3 of my sisters help out a woman who's 4 year old son with Down Syndrome locked himself in the car as soon as the mom got out of it. They stayed with the mom and kept her calm the whole time the police were trying to get the child to open the door (police finally slim jimmed it open)
and finally, Most importantly,
I'm proud to be a Phi Sigma Sigma EVERYDAY

The most proud I feel is when I look at my chapter and see how well they're doing. I put in a ton of work into the chapter, and to see them doing well makes me feel proud.

*When girls in different sororities comment on what such a wonderful bond we have.
*On bid day when other girls in sororities came up to us and told us they wanted all the girls we got.
*When girls in different sororities say they wished they wouldve received a bid from us.
* And most importantly when im surrounded by all my sisters
