Drugs within the Greek Community
Being fellow DZs, I wanted to know if you guys have anything to say about this pertaining to your school. Are drugs popular? Are they accepted? What do chapters do about it?

Hi Jen,
Drugs are always going to be a part of any college campus. However, I do not know of any sisters in my chapter who ever used drugs (of course this was several years ago). If anyone was caught, her badge would have been pulled immediately. It was something that was taken very seriously, and I think all of our girls knew better and loved their badge too much to lose it over something so stupid.
Although I do know of some fraternity guys who smoked pot occasionally, I saw much more drug use among non-Greeks than Greeks. Hope this answers your question!
DZLAM,
Carrie

KayDee850,
That was a rude, slanderous comment to make. If you are going to post on the Delta Zeta board, then please be respectful. Otherwise, do not visit. Thanks!

It's pretty insane for someone to assume that all of ANY sorority would be a druggie. I know that there are definitely some organizations (that shall remain nameless) who are more tolerant of that behavior than others....and of course there are always weak links within the system, but my sisters and I never did any of that stuff, I'm proud to say! I also want to say that drugs on campus is by and large NOT a Greek thing.

Don't worry - that KayDee850 post was just someone trying to start a flame. The person hasn't posted anywhere else on GreekChat before or since under that name, so I have a feeling she was just trying to start some trouble. Since we didn't jump at the bait, she got bored and moved on.
