cheap flights?
My car is crap, so I want to fly to formal this year if I can. The problem is that it is soon....Nov. 11th, but if anyone knows of places to get cheap airfare into Canada, I would be appreciative. I thought flights might still be less, but the cheapest I found from delta was $1100! I'm not very good at finding cheap flights, but it should cost less for a 4 hour flight than it did for a 15 hour one, or however long it was. Please help ASAP, because I really don't want to drive from Ky to Canada, but I might just have to. Thanks.

it is super close notice... so i don't know how cheap you'll be able to get it - but definitly choose a price you can pay and go to www.priceline.com and name your flight price - the individual airlines choose whether to accept that price or not.
start low - i'm talking like $200
if they reject that - go a little higher, like $250
reject again, a little higher... like $300
i got a ticket to Ireland for $300 - normally they are more like $900 i'm soo excited about that
i started low, like $200, and just worked my way up, finally they accepted!

I saw where Southwestern was having specials on intercontinental flights for 35-45 dollars. I dont know how that would apply to a Canada flight (probably not at all) and given the short amount of time you have. I would definantly try Southwestern, they are cheap, and best of all, safe as hell.
Who in the hell came up with the hairbrained idea to go to CANADA for formal? Isnt that a little far, given the fact that we are in KY? Its 590 miles from here to Toronto, thats over 10 hours at the speedlimit. None of my buisness what you louisvillenites do, just seems far for a formal.

Many of us also LOVE to gamble, and they thought it'd be fun to be able to drink legally for those under-aged. We're actually going to Windsor, so it's not too terribly bad, in fact several of my buddies went up there a few weekends ago when we had our 2-day little fall-break, which made for a fun 4 day weekend. My buddies did it in around 6 hours, which is about the same time it took us to get to Snowshoe, WV last year....we just keep gradually going further and further away. i made the joke that we should hire out WestMinister Abbey for our formal next year. It's fun to go out though, I'm glad we're going...I've never been to Canada so it's a new experience which is essentially what I live for.
:I don't gamble, just some of my bros indulge, occassionally

Dood our formal is saturday and we're going to Mishawaka, 10 minutes from south Bend. Not even ten minutes.
The two towns are practically one.

If it's a big trip that takes lots of planning, it tends to be more fun, we tried one in Cincinnatti my frosh year & not that it blew but it definitely could not compare to Snowshoe. Not only in terms of location, sorry Heidi, but that one is obvious...just the excitement of going to this place, taking everything, paking tons of people in a car, or plane (if we can sit near one another) and basically it really feels like a get-away, a vacation. Anyway, Windsor is one of the biggest places I know for people to go to for formals pretty much country-wide to the extent of my knowledge. the more we do, the harder it is to top it tho, so this isn't so great that it doesn't leave plenty of room for better stuff. What's some of the most fun places you have been to for formal that would be worth the trip for a group of KY boys? I wanna go to CO next time personally, but I've got a feeling we'll start doinf Snowshoe yearly since everyone loved it so much, which is cool. I suggest going there for formal, those of you on the east coast.

What! I bought my ticket to Dublin through that student agency Council Travel. It cost me about $1200! The only good thing was that it was completely open ended so I could change my return date... and did... about five different times.
$300 - no fair *pouting now* Guess it pays to shop around.

Buy your flight through a Canadian travel company/airline - our dollar is so frigging low right now you are bound to get a good deal for whatever price you are paying.

May I ask where in Windsor? I'm looking at Canada right now since it is across the river from my office. Were you trying to fly into Detroit Metro or Windsor?
