Gallup Organization

Has anyone ever interviewed, applied, or worked for tthe Gallup Organization? I have applied and had a phone interview and will be notified within three days if I am invited to Southfield for a face-to face interview. And I was just wondering if anyone had input...

Thanks

I was not offered to continue as a canidate due to my strengths and weaknesses of the phone interview. Oh well the hunt continues.

I had 3 interviews in the past three days:

1) RX Sales, didn't like it, no base pay all income would be on commission basis and they require a $290 supplies fee to corporate, sounds shady to me

2) A Credit Union in Ann Arbor- went OK but they don't have any immediate openings. They said they will call me as soon as a position opens up.

3)Media Sales Assistant- LOVED IT! My degree doesn't fit the work that they do, but my experience more than compensates, and they seemed to like me. I interviewed with the HR lady, and one of the account executives that I would be working for directly. He looked at my resume and mentioned he knew a few of the organizations I have volunteered with, and that his wife was president of her sorority (I was 1st VP of mine) so he said he can appreciate that fact, as well as I worked, and volunteered in college. They said to look for an invite back to interview with the other AE that would be my boss. The best part was that they have an in house nail lady come once a week to do manicures and pedicures *sigh* Plus there building is gorgeous! Oh there office is 30 mins from where I would stay in Dearborn.

Job #1 doesn't even sound like a real job. Sounds Amway-esque to me. Tell me, do your "managers" get a cut of your sales and someone above them get a cut of that cut?

As far as the medical sales job it did sound "Amway-esque" to me also. They didn't mention that management recieved a cut, because to be a higher up you have to start in the sales division and residual commissions stayed with you as long as customers renewed their membership and/or policies. It just seemed shady to me, I mean if you want no base salary thats fine, but it's not for me.

So now I'm just chilling by my phone and I keep applying for jobs till I hear something.

No worries I'm still waiting tables to pay my bills

They recruit pretty heavily from my graduate program. I interviewed with them a few months ago. I did not go on to a face-to-face interview, but I honestly don't think I was a fit for that company. That is the most impressive thing about them is that they hire based on fit and assume that skills can be worked upon. Good luck with the rest of the process! Everyone who gets in seems to love it! And I'm sure you already know this, but they ask REALLY off the wall questions, so be prepared for anything!
