Hey everyone. I'm bout to tear my hair out. My mom, who knows nothing about computers and who has been warned millions of times, downloaded something from an email. Well, for one AOL is supposed to catch these infected emails which pisses me off that it didn't.
I have AVG Virus scanner which works awesome and is easy to use. Yesterday the virus scanner didn't run, so I ran it manually this morning and it was fine. My mom opens the damn email. SO she runs hte scanner... everything is fine and quarantined and fixed. But my AOL hates me and Ihad to uninstall AOL and now wait till the post office opens to go get another disk to reinstall it.
So, I run AVG again... 48 files infected. I restarted the computer and in my startup menu I see these weird lil icons, which happen to be the virus. I delete them, and empty my recycling bin. Done right? NO. Run the scanner again... after 2 infected files showed up, I gave up pissed off and cancelled it.
So... has anyone heard of this... On July 8 it was "SecThrough.E" and that one is in the virus vault. Not it says under virus name "Warning: Hidden extension.exe". It says it's "Healed ok" but there are tons of AOL files that say "cannot open blah blah". But ther are still viruses! WTF MAN!
OMG ETA: It's the worm "Bagle.AI". OMG.
