Hamptons this weekend
My boyfriend invited me to the Hamptons this weekend. I've only been there once ages and ages ago to some over-priced club with a lot of stereotypical "Hamptons people". Anyways, we are staying at a house with his best friend and his girlfriend that his best friend's parents rent for the summer. Anyone have any suggestions on good places to go that are laid back and not too pretentious and uppity? Also, an "older" crowd too (late 20's-30's). I can't wait to get some sun on my very pale white self tommorrow!!!

Being pretentious and uppity, I don't think I can help.
I prefer the Cape myself. Hyannis forever!

I saw the Jitney leaving from Lex & somewhere between 78 & 59th street last nite on my walk. That's as close as I get.

I haven't been there since 2002 so most of the clubs I went to might not be there. The Hamptons is a big area so you might want to focus on a smaller specific area like Montauk Highway or Main Street in Southampton. Also check out Dan's Papers and www.citysearch.com for some ideas of places to go and things to do. Have fun and say hi to everyone from me!
Here are some links you can check out:

Boardy Barn is fun on Sundays.
If you like Turtle Bay in NYC, you will like Turtle Bay East in Quogue.
If you like beer, try the Southampton Publick House.
Munchkin, did you ever wind up going to the Hamptons for the weekend?

I was hoping you would see this post!! I know you are our Hamptons Alum LOL. Everyone always talks about the Boardy Barn so maybe we'll check that out tommorrow. I like Turtle Bay. We should plan another fun nite there in the future. I don't think you were out with us that nite though Noreen Thanks for the links. I was checking out some of them earlier. So glad I have absolutely nothing to do at work today.............

You're welcome. Boardy Barn is fun and casual, but I haven't been there in three or four years. I would recommend Turtle Bay even though I didn't make it out there with you that night. Casey's is fun, too. They are big clubs with multiple bars inside and outside so can enjoy the beautiful weather. Have Fun!

sorry it's just that on the 4th some beer-goggles cute guy was trying to impress me with his summer long island nighlife knowledge and went on and on about Boardy and the Drift(wood Inn). He followed my friends & to a bar after the party. We chugged our drinks and ditched him.
My HS friends who still live out in Suffolk Co. love Boardy. I have never been!!!

Yeah, Hyannis isn't really one of my favorite places either, although my uncle had a place in South Yarmouth so we used to go there a lot.
I'm going to Martha's Vineyard next weekend - I'm beyond pumped, I need some beach/relaxation time this summer.

Weh, it was the first place in CC I had ever been, this was when I was about 17. It was low season, so I was able to drink without being carded and generally had a great time. Now that I'm older, I'm been out to Yarmouth and Harwich, which I like a lot more.
