Is this for "secret sister" type gifts leading up to your getting your Little or just regular gifts?

Here are a few things I have done, and received:
Stationary - not necessarily stationary ordered through a greek store, but sometimes you can find your symbol on a pen, or pad of paper. Our is a sailboat, and it's pretty easy to find those.
Pillow - I found a pillow at Target, and cut out fabric, ironing on our letters. Then I used puffy paint (which I have mixed feelings about, sometimes I think it's a little cheesy), and was real careful when I painted a quote around the edges.
Clothing - You can always buy a Hanes tee-shirt or Fruit of the Loom and take it to a nearby embrodiary shop, where they'll put letter on for about 7-10 bucks.
*Ususally we only gave clothes at the actual party where you reveal yourself to your little sis at the end of Inspiraton Week.
Notes - Even a simple letter is nice. There's a misconception about having to buy and make a whole bunch of stuff, because you'll end up buying and making stuff through out the entire duration of the year, which gets costly. Notes under the door are nice, too.
Clear, plastic, picute frame - you know the 1.99 kind from, you guessed it, Target. I used puffy paint (again) to paint "Big Sis, Lil' Sis" at the top and bottom of the frame.
Good luck.

Hi--
EKU Pi Phi, I have found great Greek gifts on eBay; not much bidding goes on for anything except vintage pins and I've gotten some great stuff for very little this month. Our Pi Phi page has a bunch. Ring ching!

Those were some great ideas. I also have some of those paint markers in my fraternities colors that can be used in place of puffy paint most of the time (and you can by fabric markers also).
In response to BCNUQT's comment:

VERY TRUE. At my university, signs on resident's doors were a HUGE thing (for everyone.. greeks, athletes, friends cheering each other up, etc.)
By the end of the year most people's doors would be completely covered with little construction paper signs.

I saw a really cute book at this store I was just at. It's called Big Sister, Little Sister. It's like 10 pages long and it's all about feeling close to someone and it just seemed like a perfect idea for big/lil week. I was talking to a lot of sisters when I was going through rush and scrap books seemed like a really popular idea too. If you make a little picture book w/ the sorority's colors and fill it w/ little notes, pictures, and special things to share it turns out to be a great gift idea:-)

You know the woodburning kits that you (may) use to decorate your paddle? Well they are only like 10 bucks at Michaels...I'm getting ready to buy a cheap wooden frame from Wal-Mart and burn it myself for my little. I'm not crafty, but if you draw it with pencil first and then go over it with the burner, it will look great and really personal!
We also give our littles a pillow when we reveal ourselves on big/lil night (we buy a square toss pillow) and then use glitter, puffy paint, etc to decorate it.
A very practical idea is to buy an 88cent Sterlite box (plastic shoebox shaped) at Wal-Mart and fill it with her favorite shampoo, lip gloss, nail file, etc. Then she can use the stuff inside and the box to keep other stuff tucked away!
I think that notes and cards are always a plus. It does get costly to buy buy buy...especially when my family now has a little, 2 grand-littles, 2 great-grand-littles, and 1 great-great-grand-little! (I know most people don't do things for their grands, but I think they get sad when I have stuff for my little and not them too)! But everyone always loves a note on their door, or "MAIL" in their mailbox....and not more junk mail! In fact - I'm out...I gotta go make cards on the computer to send to my family! Good luck everyone!
