Dog Owners Advice

My pup has grown tremendously since I got him. I think his growth was stunted originally because of the trauma inflicted upon him.

So, he lost two baby teeth over the weekend. Since I didn't know how old he was, I was told to watch for that as it was the signal that he had reached 16 weeks. Now, that seems awfully old for how itty bitty he still is.

Does anyone have any information on this 16 week thing??

what kind of puppy do you have? Some of the smaller breeds will lose their teeth a bit later than the larger ones, some will continue to keep some of their baby teeth and you have to have them pulled (for example chihuahua's). In a typical puppy the canines will start to grow in at 5 1/2 months of age and will be fully in at about 6 months of age.

He's a beagle mix. My vet and trainer both said the teeth fall out at 4 months and you've said that the teeth come in at 5 1/2 months, so that makes perfect sense!

Thank you!
