Alternative Internet Browsers

I just downloaded Avant. It's working pretty well. Others out there that I've heard of include Opera and Mozilla. Anyone have any recommendations? I really like Avant so far. It's very IE-like, presumably without all the security holes.

I have a mac and use Safari which I like. It took a while to get used to it, but now I use it all the time.

I use Mozilla Firefox, which is not the same as Mozilla. My husband is a software engineer, so he knows all that is out there, and that's his favorite. It's easy to use, I've had no problems at all. Tons better than IE.

Good info. I'll give it a shot. I decided I'm ditching IE as of today. That bug going around that takes advantage of IE's security flaws in order to send info to nefarious websites was just the last straw. Microsoft is "still working" on a patch. It's hard to believe with all the money they make that they can put out such a shoddy product.

I use Mozilla. My cousin uses my computer all the time--clicks on banners, and whatever else sparks her interest. I get left with the mess of cleaning the spyware- the virus' (8 a few weeks ago-trojan horses and worms), too many popups, etc.
I have had no problems with Mozilla. It blocks the popups--notifies you when other programs are attempting to run in the background. It has been a calm couple of weeks on the computer.
I would hightly recomend Mozilla.

I downloaded Mozilla Firefox and Avant yesterday, thanks to you all's suggestions.

I also use Netscape.

It's quite sad how much better they are than IE. I haven't decided which one I like best, but I really like the fact that Avant and Firefox import your bookmarks and cookies.
