Pierre Berton

Well I haven't seen a thread for Pierre Berton; memorializing the man who was one of the more prolific and influential writers of modern Canada.

CBC has a nice webpage devoted to the man and his work:

Personally I will always be thankful to him for making history interesting and enjoyable in his books - my favourites are of course Vimy and the two books about the War of 1812.

As a history major, he was always a popular topic during discussions ... he certainly raised the awareness and pride about Canadian history ...

I'm not familiar with any of his works, but may he rest in peace.

The last thing I saw of Pierre Burton was a few weeks back on the Monday Report. He is a great Canadian icon - may he rest in peace.
