hey there! When I was pledging our new member ed. had us keep a journal of interviews with memebers from the house. We had to have a certain number of actives "interviewed" so to speak before iniation. I thought it was kinda a drag when I had to do it but looking back it forced me to hang out at the house more when I was still a little shy and settling in, which helped me to become more comfortable a lot faster. The thing was we weren't allowed to ask the same ole' "what's your major?" type questions. I asked stuff what is your fav late night snack after you've been out all night... random stuff really got the convos going and I learned a lot about my future sisters. Just an idea!

ITB,

Yeah, like Beth said, Meredith is our vp: member education, and she did an awesome job.

I think our chapter's favorite event was when Meredith broght someone in to teach some self-defense...it was really neat.

There was also a really fun activity where you did this survey thing and it told you what type of animal you were...and that told you a lot about yourself. It was neat.

Thanks girls,
When our CDC (Terri for any of you who had her)came, she told us we should spend less time having actual meetings and do different events. Do any of your chapters do that. We hardly ever go out and so stuff for meetings. But I want to do fun things with everyone so that everyone doesnt get burnt out fast!

HI.

When i was Member Ed. I did an Etiquette Dinner with a Frat where they are supposed to serve you and you learn how to sit and eat properly like a lady. i set it up and i got good feedback from chapter.

i always wanted to do something fun like ballroom dance lessons. its always good to know how to dance the cha cha cha or the waltz it think that would be very educational in a stretched sense! hahahah

good luck.
