Exclamation DON'T Ever Cut a limb on a tree on your own

So this weekend we found out that a rather large limb in an oak on our property would need to be removed before we could put in our new shop. The contractors were coming today. So my father-in-law, my father, my brother and my husband all worked to get this limb out of the tree safely. All was going well until the limb snapped loose and came to the ground. As the tip of it hit it sprung up like a spring. As it did this it also took my father with it. When he came back down he landed on a rather sharp rock that split his knee open from one side to the other. Luckily my husband is an EMT and knew what to do so that the bleeding would be minimal while we got him to the hospital.
Unfortunately, if my father hadn't of held on to the rope then my father in law would have been knocked 15 ft out of the air from a latter. After everything was all said and done we realized what went wrong but I will never allow any one in my family to cut a limb again. Plus 9 hours in the ER is not fun on a Sunday night.

It can be a hazardous thing if you're not careful.

My youngest brother has a metal plate in his arm to prove it.
