UC Davis Rush

Hi everyone,

I am considering transferring to UC Davis as a junior. If I do I would be very interested in joining a sorority. I was wondering if anyone could give me information about rush at Davis. Is it competitive, and would I have a hard time rushing as a junior transfer? I considered rushing at my current school, but was somewhat put off by the competitiveness and the fact that many girls I know were heavily cut and did not have a good experience. Any advice or information would be appreciated.

Thanks everyone!!!

All of the UC schools are SUCH different atmospheres that they all have VERY different greek systems from very small.. (UC Santa Cruz with only 1 NPC chapter on campus) to Berkely and UCLA which have very old (for the main part) single letter chapters and old beautiful homes so it's really apples and oranges depending on the campus... UCLA (probably the most competetive/largest rush in the UC system) I think recs would help but aren't a end all and be all of getting a bid. Berkeley is about the same rec wise, although a bit less competetive as the system is smaller. I'm too busy at the moment.. but there is a great thread about UC Santa Cruz rush and Carina who wanted to start another sorority there which leads to a lot of insight about greek life there... I'll post then link

I'm a UCD alum and recruitment advisor at Tri Delta. I can tell you that you shouldn't have problems rushing as a junior. Many people do. You also shouldn't worry too much about recs. If you can get them, great. But, if not, it won't hurt you. Let me know if you have additional questions.
