The term chapter or the previous chapter letters should not be used except in future tense until the rechartering ceremony.

In general, a proposed chartering date(s) should be included in the charter application, but until the Section chair and Region Director indicate that they think that the charter application should be sent in, trying to set a chartering date is not a good idea. For example U of Mississippi (will be Epsilon Omega) is in the process of finishing up its chartering packet and they still are looking at one of three dates 8/28, 9/4 or 9/8...

Good luck to the Petitioners of Jackson State, may Omega Psi chapter return!

Eyes on the Prize

Keep your eyes on the prize, and know that nothing but the truth with suffice.

There are many on this list who have been through the building of the Petitioning Process. We do want to help you and your fellow petitioners at JSU become our brothers!

Petitioning is probably one of the hardest things to do in our Fraternity - all of us who have been down that road wish you the best....and also encourage you to never give up, never give in, and never give out - because with perseverance, you WILL become a loyal and true Brother!

My apologies

I'd like to in my own turn apologize. I went off the information that OmegaPsi posted which gave his date of rechartering as June 5,2005 more than a year in advance. When I got the Extension Report from Nationals, I noticed that his chartering is planned for this Saturday June 5,*2004*. For a chapter within two weeks of chartering and with everything approved by Nationals, a great deal more slack in refering to oneself by chapter letters should be given. It still isn't formally correct, but *much* more excusable.

OmegaPsi, I am sorry if my response caused you pain, I wish the recharterers of Omega Psi chapter of Alpha Phi Omega all of the best. I look forward to calling you and all of the recharterers of Omega Psi chapter my brothers.

Yours in Leadership, Friendship and Service
