I don't think I could be any prouder to be an SAI. This weekend, me and four other girls from my chapter went camping. One girl, Adelle, rode with me, and I lead the way since I knew how to get to the park; Staci followed behind me; and Crystal behind her (Krystal came the next day). Well, about halfway there, I had to slow to a near stop for traffic. Crystal's brakes went out...and she rear-ended Staci.

NOT a good way to start a trip.
Might I add, that Crystal has just transferred to my school and decided to come along on the trip to get to know our chapter to decide if she wants to affiliate with us (she's a sister)? And her first impression was rear-ending...and totalling...a sister's car.
I knew that neither of them were hurt, but I was worried about their cars, and also worried that this would cause a fight between sisters and whatnot. I mean, it would only be natural.
Instead...Staci and Crystal worked together to figure out who to call and what to do. There were no hard feelings; no griping; nothing. Just two sisters looking past what happened and working together to help each other out. Staci calmed Crystal down (who felt horrible for wrecking Staci's car and was very shaken up) and they put their heads together to figure out what to do. While we waited for the wrecker, we actually cracked jokes about how lousy our weekend had started out.
All I could think during the trip was how damn lucky I am to belong to a sisterhood where we love each other so much that not even totalling a sister's car can split up the friendships we've made. I don't think there's been any other single moment that has made me so proud to say I am a sister of Sigma Alpha Iota.
I'm sorry if that's corny, but I just had to share!
