Long lasting lipstick

Sorry for another make-up thread, but I can't seem to find one that is specific to lipstick...

Has anyone tried any of the long lasting/non-smudging ones? What do you recommend/not recommend?

Max Factor Lipfinity and Cover Girl Outlast are both excellent. However, you have to keep reapplying the topcoat glossy stuff or else your lips dry out and the color starts to flake off, which is really gross.

Though not billed as a "long lasting" lippie, MAC's Lipglass is awesome! It lasts a long time and doesn't dry out the lips. And they have tons of colors.

Anything but Estee Lauder works wonders, that brand is a little trashy

I echo the MAC sentiments - go ask the counter for something long lasting, they'll be a fantastic help

You also have to make sure you like the color before you put it on! It took a couple days for the Lip Finity color I tried to completely come off.. made me crazy cuz the color made my teeth look yellow!

I completely agree! The only thing I hated about Lipfinity and Outlast was that it flaked off and looked patchy if I forgot to reapply the topcoat. Plus, it dried out my lips.

I like Dior Addict Ultragloss and for a splurge, Chanel Glossimer.

Revlon Color Stay didn't flake off, but it's just dull matted color if you don't re-apply the glossy. Plus, once it's on - it's ON. You make a little stray over the edge of your lip and you've got crooked lips for the next 24 hours!

I had the most fabulous lip gloss - cheap drugstore kind - that stayed on all night eating and drinking but came off with soap. The label rubbed off the tube and I have no idea who made it! I've tried to compare tubes, but it's either changed containers or been discontinued.

This is going to sound terrible, but... through work, I know a few former hookers. What the one told me about lipstick was to put on lipliner, then fill in the rest of the lips. Then use whatever lipstick you want to use, blot, and powder. Use gloss if you'd like. You should be able to have a whole meal without worrying about your lipstick, and have the exact shade you'd like!
