It can tell if you smoke, drink or take drugs and, growing at 0.3 to 0.5 millimeters a day, it keeps a record for months if not years -- which is why some people taking illegal substances shave their heads.
This is the reason why our school district uses hair samples to drug test our athletes, cheerleaders, etc. If the hair on their head is too short, they go for the underarm hair, etc.

Funny, I never thought of my hair as being fragile. When I was younger, it was so strong that it broke a couple of afro combs. And you know those things were thick.
There must be a difference between the words "nappy" and "strong".

Its on DVD and I soooo recommend folks picking it up - if only to watch it with Spike's commentary.

Black hair is very fragile - depending on how "kinky" your hair is, you might have more of a zig-zag pattern to your hair texture rather than a curl. If your hair has that pattern, it's more prone to breakage.

True dat! My stylist can always tell whether I've had too much fried chicken or passed up too much water just by looking at my hair.
On an episode of HBO's Autopsy, even the great medical examiner Michael Baden remarked that when Pennsylvania investigators once exhumed a man and took hair samples, they knew that he had been killed by systematic thallium poisoning. (Turned out to be the wife.)
Speaking of Spike, I met him last night as he was the keynote speaker at my school's graduation. Very deep. I may have to check out a few 40 Acres movies this weekend.
