Just an FYI, some "free e-card" websites are actually set-up as fronts for operations which take your e-mail address and spam you ENDLESSLY.
I had a friend send me an e-greeting from
www.newfunpages.com. It was indeed a real e-card. However, by clicking on the link to go read it, that apparently gave newfunpages.com permission to send me junk mail without ceasing (I know it's them because all of the spam comes from their domain). I knew before I did it that it was a risk, but I was desperate. I clicked on their link to unsubscribe. I wasn't unsubscribed. In fact, it probably notified their spam-machine that my e-mail address is valid and prompted more mail from
earnyourdegreeonline@newfunpages.com and
sendflowers@newfunpages.com and
lowmortgagerates@newfunpages.com and so on.
So now, I
do not accept e-greetings from anywhere other than yahoogreetings.com, americangreetings.com and bluemountain.com. Anywhere else and I immediately delete it.
