AOII Rose Run!!

I just wanted to share my excitement. Today was the AOII Day at the Downs and it was SO much fun!!! We had the 6th race and 10 of us presented a trophy to the winning jockey (who stood less than my shoulder height!! LOL) and got our picture taken with him and the trainer, etc. It was a blast!!! I'll share picture when I get them - and hopefully we'll get some in the To Dragma!

Okay, here's the scoop. For the most part it was decided that we will be sponsoring a Rose Run at Churchill Downs again next year (same weekend but I don't have the exact date with me but its the Sunday after Mother's Day). We will also be extending invitations to other AOIIs that are interested (we have women from Indy who are interested). I will pass along more info as we get it together. For those of you coming to LI, I am doing our poster with pictures and info on the Day at the Downs so make sure to check it out!

P.S. I was talking to my roomate about next year's event and how she can go. She said that she can pretend to be an AOII and I responded that she can go AS an AOII - and then proceeded to explain AI. Needless to say, she wanted an application and will be initiated (barring anything unforseen) in the fall at Pi Alpha!! I'm getting a little sister!!
