NC State kids
Hey I was just wondering if anyone knows what sorority got picked up there? I know KD and Tri Delta were 2 of the sororities that presented there in the spring. Any idea??

Pi Beta Phi will colonize here in the fall...two years later Tri-Delt will come...then two years later Kappa Delta will colonize.

Interesting. I've never heard of Pi Beta Phi.
I wish ECU would get another sorority already.

Pi Beta Phi is a NPC sorority like Kappa Delta (there are 26 NPC sororities). They have a chapter at UNC and at Duke (as well as at other Universities all over the nation).

Yeah I went and checked out their site before posting back with you to start with and I recognized their name, I've just never heard of them being anywhere. That's cool they're coming there though. They seem nice.

HI KDAngel,
Pi Beta Phi has 134 chapters nationally. We actually have a chapter at Wake Forest, also--the chapter at State will be our third North Carolina chapter! I am a NC girl who goes to college in Virginia--I have a good friend from high school in your KD chapter at ECU! Personally I would love to have Pi Phi at ECU, but I guess y'all won't be adding another sorority for a while!
Pi Phi, while not having many chapters in the Carolinas or Georgia, has many chapters throughout the rest of the South, Midwest, and West Coast!

Not to get nit-picky, but why is this in the locals forum?

Yeah, KD came back on in 2000 and until we start getting more people to come through formal recruitment ECU won't let any new sororities come around. That and ECU doesn't love the greek system so much. Even though it dominates the school.

That would because I was an idiot. I'm just getting into the general forums and I thought it was about local areas... I totally forgot about local sororities. Sorry.

Fun! So you're from Statesville then? It's funny everyone from GC that knows someone from my chapter knows Sarah. I'm actually going to Statesville this week to go see her. Small world.

There is this really cool feature on here called Private Messaging. It's a neat thing to do if you accidentally post in the wrong forum. you can also delete and edit your own posts or have a mod move it to the correct place. I know when I started on here it took me along time to figure things out. hope this helps.

Actually, the Pi Phi chapter at NC State will be the 4th in NC (Duke, UNC and Wake Forest are the other 3). We have many other chapters in the south except currently have no active chapters in SC (dormant at USC and Clemson) and only one in GA (UGA).

Yeah, I'm not technically from Statesville... It's the county seat, I live out in the country. But yeah! Sarah's dad was my AP US History teacher and is like the best high school teacher in the entire world...
