StepCorrect 2001! Were you There???

Were you there????
If you were I'd like to hear your opinions about the step show & afterparty!!
Did you agree with the judges decisions???

Personally the decision made in the female step-off were almost on point
1.Alpha Kappa Alpha (nyc?)
2.Delta Sigma Theta
3.Alpha Kappa Alpha
4.Sigma Gamma Rho ( in my opinion should have been last--- I really didnt like their costumes)
5.& 6.Zeta Phi Beta (I think the first Zeta team should have placed 3rd)

Men:
1.Kappa Alpha Psi (over did it with the motorcycles)
2. Phi Beta Sigma (should have placed 1st----the show was tight-----and talk about showmanship)

I'm really can't remember how the others placed but I really dug the Alpha Phi Alpha step team from the West Coast. They had a Spring 2001 Neo that was soooo hype he was off the chain.......I loved the sphinxman that stepped in the middle too. But the Sigmas took the cake with those African male dancers in thosse little grass skirts..... those men had bodies to die for..mm, mmm, mmmmmm... okay okay I'm going off on a tangent. Anyway the men really took showmanship to another level.... with all the fireworks and stuff I couldn't figure if it was a step show or the 4th of July.

But someone please tell me why there was some drama in the end because the Sigmas felt cheated. The host (Suede) had them escorted off the stage. I think it was because they broke a trophy!!!!

Anywho the after party was aight!!! I enjoyed getting my dance on...But I'm interested in hearing your opinions

I thought the Kappas Won the Sigmas in my opinion did not really step enough to win first place. (OhSoPrettyNikki I think the Sigmas spent not enough time stepping and too much time with Grass Skirts and fireworks- like one frat said it looked more like a music video then stepping)

I think a lot of teams were misplaced. But overall it was a Great Show the bros and sorors represented to the fullest.

I was there and I loved it. It was my 1st Step Correct so of course I was impressed. I think the Sororities placed correctly but I think that the Sigma's music video stepshow should have placed 1st (just my opinion). The Kappa's were great, I must admit. I loved the Alphas step, it got me hyped up! I think they should have placed 2nd.

I think they did.....they did step at the one at New Years though and came in second.

Shpinxpoet I agree that your brothers represented!
I especially loved the Neo. He was sooo hype!!!
Personally I think the Kappas over did it with the motorcycles!
But at least they didn't drop the kanes; although they did break one!
I know people are tired of the Sigmas winning with the same ol African grass skirt theme , but I liked it!!!!

Soror, I didn't know you were in the NYC area. Are you going on the boatride tomorrow? I was going to email you but your address is not listed in your profile. I'm not sure if I'm going on the boatride but I'll be at the party Saturday and the picnic on Sunday.

Sexy Mocha I was informed that the Skee-Phi Picnic was to be held on August 11 @ Ft Greene Park in Brooklyn. However I was told that the location may be changed back to under the bridge. Would you mind e-mailing me to clarify b/c I would like to attend.

It has been changed- Empire Fulton Ferry State Park (under the bridge). Same date. 12pm-6pm and the location of the after party to be announced at the picnic ;-)
