Pledged- the book

So I was in Barnes and Noble today and saw a book called "Pledged- The Secret Life of Sororities" by Alexandra Robbins. Of course I grabbed a copy and began to flip through it. It was CRAZY! I ended up spending 2hrs and some change there reading it all talk mad junk about the horrors of sororities.

The premise is that the author goes undercover and gets the inside scoop about sororities. It talks all about panhellenic and many national sororities (you name the group, it was talked about sometime). Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone else has heard about it or seen it?

It's CRAZY and it really gives a bad description of sororities. No doubt there are bad chapters out there, but I feel as a whole sororities are amazing and bring forth amazing opportunities. Anyone else heard about it??

Check out the link to read what it's about and an excerpt from the book

Or as it's known on another board I frequent...

MURRAY!!!

A 'murray' is defined as somebody who says something that somebody else just said, or a topic that's already been covered in another thread.

Dahling, you know it's not the 99th.

It's the 903429837528734628364287534th, if you want to count the ones in the individual GLO forums too.

Awww sorry! I looked for another thread and didn't see one. I don't make it out of the Kappa Delta area much on the boards. I think I'll just make a point to stay over there from now. on.

Don't be offended - people are just really tired of hearing about it and whether or not you should buy it. We've been gabbing on along about it for so long we forget that this book is basically a pimple on the butt of the publishing world that most people haven't noticed.

Although Alexandra Robbins does have awesome hair. (See James, I promised I would say something nice. )

Awww hon, don't take the comments to heart so much!
No need to stay away from the general forums, nobody in this thread meant anything harsh.
There were a coupla threads on it in this forum but they've (at time of this post) disappeared to page 2 of the forum so you didn't see them. Some of them have links to interviews with her, near the end.
Anyway, I got my copy yesterday; I'll head over to James' thread to post, once I've read a bit more on it too.

edit: whoops, 33girl beat me to it.
