Cocaine or skydiving?

I have an exam next Friday that is completely essays (seven to be exact). One of the questions dealt with how many drug education programs teach kids to find other ways to "get high" (other than using substances). Skydiving, bungee jumping and skiing have actually been suggested as 'healthy' alternatives to drug use. However in the question it mentions that skydiving is much like cocaine use: expensive, not a contribution to society, dangerous.
Just for fun, what do you think? How are drug use and thrill activities alike? How are they different? Ignore the obvious "One is legal and the other isn't."

Ahh . . teaching people how to indulge an adrenalin high.

Well, there are too many adrenalin addicts in society . . just tell them to get a bad SO . . . lots of drama, lots of adrenalin.
