The Stepford Wives... seriously...
Ok I don't know if you all had the same previews I did during Mean Girls... but apparently Nicole Kidman, Matthew Broderick, and Chris Walken are all staring in a new movie called... yes... The Stepford Wives. It also has Bette Midler in it.
For some reason, this preview made me think of GC...

Matthew Broderick??? I just don't see him being in this movie.
Christopher Walken, on the other hand.....this is a part he was BORN to play.

I saw the preview at Mean Girls as well, and I can't wait! I loved the original movie...freaky weird Faith Hill is also in it! Matthew Broderick looks pretty good in it actually...it's a bizarre cast...I think I remember seeing Jon Lovitz as well!

I actually saw the original 1975 version with my older sister a couple of weeks ago (We were at Blockbuster and she was intruiged - apparently someone on the show "The Apprentice" called someone else a "Stepford Wife" and my sister & I decided to watch the movie to see exactly what that meant)
It was pretty hilarious and really WEIRD! I highly recommend seeing the original!!!
I will probably see the remake to see what they changed.
I don't think the 2004 version will have the same effect... there's something about the way they looked in the 70s and the 70's way of making films that gives it that eerie feeling that something just isn't right..

Did anyone see Stepford Wives II? It was really rank, compared to the first one.

Are you joking? That is hilarious... Was it return of the killer wives or something?
It seems like an odd trailer to be shown at Mean Girls... Is it a similar target audience?

That movie really upset me. I identified with Katherine Ross and was so afraid that marriage...in general...turned women into "SWs".
Then I married, moved here and found IT WAS TRUE!!!!!
I agree with texas*princess the grainy film and the styles DID have an eerie effect. I think I'd like to see it.

lol I thiink it was called something like "Revenge of the Stepford Wives"... I heard they even made the "Stepford Children" in the early 90's.
Maybe instead of a remake they should make something like the "Stepford Pets"
