can someone explain this to me
Why are these shoes so popular?
I just don't get it. They're ugly as all sin. Personally, unless you work in a swamp or are a doctor or something, I think you shouldn't wear them.

Dang, thanks, I thought I was the only one. Although I've seen them in the stores everywhere, I have yet to see someone actually wearing them.
ETA: Except the pair my mom has w/o the straps or holes that she uses for gardening.

For gardening and stuff like that, they make sense. But I don't see why trendy, upscale stores would sell them or why people would wear them to bars.

Yikes! Those are uncomfortably similar-looking to one of my mid-eighties staples, the jelly shoe:
They hurt like a mofo because the plastic would cut into your feet plus, not to be indelicate, they made one's feet sweaty and stinky.
(33Girl, you KNOW you were rocking jelly shoes back in the day! )

Supposedly they're super comfortable. However, if you can't find shoes other than these that are super comfortable, you're pretty stupid.
ETA, at least the jelly shoes made your legs look cute if you wore them w/ a skirt or shorts.

They do come in children's sizes. I'm sure if you needed to, you could melt them over an open flame to mold them to your size.

I actually know someone who wears these. She let me try them on-- very comfy.
I still wouldn't wear them!
